I’m not telling you how to spend your money, but why do you buy an Xbox Series X if it has ZERO launch exclusive and nothing of interest on the near horizon? Or you just want to put it on display?

Does that matter? Games take time to make. When those games eventually arrive, what else will you say then?
Microsoft allows Zenimax to honor any prior commitments that were made before the acquisition.
The same thing could be said about PC. Who actually open two apps at the same time? Because after all, you could only use one app at a time anyway.
So, do you ever open two PC app at the same time and switching back and forth between them?
It is something new and useful. If you don’t see it as a big deal, would you rather everything stay the same as it is on the PS4/Xbox One?

It’s all done to drive the price of entry down. People wouldn’t buy the console if it costs an arm and a leg.
But I do agree though, those prices are outrageous.

Not only this though. No backward compatibility, mishandling preorder (MS is also guilty of this to some extent), raising game price to $70, and lying about games like Miles Morales and Horizon 2 being next gen only just to name some.
It is one thing if every company charge for next gen upgrade. But clearly this is not the case. Microsoft, Ubisoft, CDPR, and some others don’t charge you for that.

The Witcher 3 was released way back in 2015 and still will get a free next gen upgrade.
This just goes to show that Microsoft handle this issue way better with their free Smart Delivery program.

Yet you listed Uncharted 4 and God of War. Those aren't new series. MS could also have easily made Ori and Wasteland exclusive to their platform, but they didn't.
It also doesn't matter who own Sunset Overdrive, MS IS the publisher. And MS owns Quantum Break.
