The game isn't fun as a single player experience because it's NOT MEANT TO BE PLAYED BY YOURSELF.
It's called "Left 4 Dead" which is a play on words, emphasizing the NUMBER 4, not the word "for".
It's a coop game. If coop isn't for you, don't bash it. Just move on.
This should have been flagged as Spam. No one needs to go to a site to be bombarded with TWO obnoxious auto-playing "you've won a Nintendo Wii" ads.

@Jolly - I think that somehow this article has new and improved fanboy blocking power. It IS weird that no one has done the usual "oh yea glad you like Gears 1.5" nonsense...

I think it's pure metrics. They used the COD4 engine, we know those graphics rock. And let's admit it, there's still millions of people who DO love their WWII shooters, despite the outcry against them.
They added a bit more replayability than COD4, kept the stellar graphics, and stayed true to the formula.
I wouldn't buy it new, but I'm definitely eager to play it.

And personally, I would have bought Gears 2 JUST for the multiplayer, its' just that good.
