In the Japanese site it says that the title has reached 900k worldwide shipments + digital sales. This is not the first time these incompetent sites report shipments as sold.
Can these sites stop claiming shipped copies as sold?
It's shipped copies to stores, so it's really not that great for couple months.
There's a bigger mistake in the article. It makes it seem like 900k players own the game. That's not the case.
900k shipped + digital copies. This means that less than 900k gamers own the game. And considering the fact that many online stores still have Day 1 Editions... this game is not selling well to gamers.
It has only shipped 900k, and many online stores still have Day 1 Editions. Not many gamers actually own this. Nioh reached 1 million shipments in 2 weeks and 1.9 million in 1 year. This will probably barely reach 1.5 million shipments in its lifetime.
This is shipments + digital sales. So under 900k gamers actually own the game.
And considering the fact that many online stores still have Day 1 Editions... not many gamers actually own this.
God of War is selling much faster than Uncharted 4, it will probably surpass it by the end of the year.
@solideagle Games doing 1 million are considered a success. Games doing 500k are considered a success. Games doing 100k are considered a success. Depends how much it cost to make.
@AspiringProGenji
There are tons of great, well-reviewed indie games that barely break 50k in sales. This game was massive and had massive marketing + great reviews. Stop pretending like a game being good is all it takes. You are disrespecting tons of developers.
This is a stupid thing to say. There are many developers who have put their hearts into their good games, and their studios are now closed. Have a great marketing + great reviews and your game sells. Marketing is a huge part. Don't act that just because a game is good and the developers put their hearts into it it will sell. That's simply not how it works.
Another Zombie game. PS5 exclusives better be something else than Last of Us 3 and Weeks Gone.
Wasn't this a zombie game?
@Kumakai God of War sold 3.1 million in 3 days. That's less than 1 week.
RAGE 2. Same pink as in their recent response image to Wallmart.
Ask the developers.
Will any big announcements be saved for E3?
Sony produces movies, not games.
Check Amazon Prime Video.
People buy Nintendo games at those prices so they don't need to drop them, perhaps?
It does. These news sites have only one job and they still succeed in fucking up.
