That's because most of the people that have been dead set on buying an X1 are die-hard Xbox loyalists. They'd pay $700 for the current console in question.
@Lalana
Yeah, you're right, because they wouldn't have to. a $400 price tag is something I would expect 2 years down the line, but it's here at launch. I cant believe you're trying to spin this. It's pathetic.
Mike, here's the question I've been runnning through my head - With the steady increase in graphical fidelity for next gen titles in the coming years, will native 1080p go the way 60 frames did last gen? Meaning will it even be possible? I surely hope so. I never want to go below 1080 again, but I feel many developers will have to sacrifice it for other assets of their games.
No Thrice, that's not how I WANT it in FREE mode of GRAND THEFT AUTO an OPEN WORLD GAME.
What a stupid question.
LOOKS.
My comment was in response to you nitpicking a few dud textures on game that was released in 2009 and to this day is still visually head and shoulders above any other console shooter.
Battlefield 4
Killzone Shadowfall
Call of Duty Ghosts
Planetside 2 (free)
Assassin's Creed IV
NBA 2K14 Next Gen
Injustice: Gods Among Us Next Gen
FIFA
Madden Next Gen
Warframe (free)
Knack
Loads of free games at launch.
With Infamous, Drive Club, and Watchdogs on the horizon.
I don't see what is weak AT ALL about this line-up.
Why does Killzone have SOOOOOO MANY HATERS?!!! GG works so hard, and have taken flak from the entire gaming industry for far too long. Do you not see how brilliant this game looks? Stop nitpicking every stupid little thing, especially if you're a BF/COD fanboy.
Killzone SF, let alone 2 and 3, looks better than any console shooter you have ever played, so really, I'm just gonna say it, shut up.

Well, our definitions of fun differ, I suppose. I love doing things as you explained as well, but I also really enjoy flying in games. They weren't defenseless. They had all the cover in the world on their side, as well as means of escape, passive mode, or the option to go do a mission.
There's nothing you can tell me to convince me that a FREEmode in GTA should have such harsh restrictions. Especially when any part of the world can be access...
Irish Guy, you try way too hard to discredit Sony based on any positive news/feedback.
Black Tar, I stole the jet from the military base, where everybody else who was the same level as me if not higher could attain it just as easily. Since I managed to obtain it and control the skies for hours, keeping swarms of player from getting in equally powered buzzards with lock-on systems, I would say that I definitely owned them. I was rigorously being singled out by the entire lobby with air support, so trust me, it was no one-sided battle.
I didn't buy my way out...
What's crazy is - Announcements like that are coming. Very soon. When the true fleet of exclusive titles in the pipeline for 2014-15 are revealed, I truly don't know what cards M$ have left to play. They already announced 2 sequels from the strongest IP's they have, Halo and Forza.
I just could never buy a console that couldn't deliver fresh new experiences/IP's annually. As a former Xbox gamer, rebounding between Gears, Forza and Halo became tiresome.
I agree with nearly EVERY point made in this article. I have flat-out STOPPED playing since becoming a bad sport. There's no way I should be penalized for Owning 50 people in a row with the jet I EARNED. Simply ridiculous. 'Grand Theft' Auto - my ass.
Keep trying. Sony fans have been playing graphical masterpieces on consoles since '09.
"No other game is even close."
Stop.
You're missing the point. CoD maps are tiny. BF maps are massive at times. It's not hard to find a healthy middleground. Often times, you get spawned right next to the person you just killed which is completely ridiculous. Don't try to teach my ANYTHING about CoD, bud, I have 60000 kills + on each game.
There's always a work-around. I feel like Treyarch is going to deliver the first true next gen CoD.
Solution is simple - Increase the SIZE OF THE MAPS. Problem solved, you now have a playable 16v16 CoD experience.
I agree with you because your marketing jargon is spot on and it made my minute. Bubz.
I think we may be approaching a point in the industry where smaller arcade titles such as these will live on continuously through multiple console generations. This adds so much value to the investment of these types of games. I feel that consumers will bode well with this model, thus increasing the sales of indie games.
@Lalana
Yes, the PS3 was $600. And for good reasoning, too - to usher in the adoption of Blu-Ray to make games like KZ, Uncharted, God of War and GT6 possible, as well as well as HD-ifying the movie industry for physical media. 360 held back an entire generation playing it safe at launch with its old-as-dinosaur-shit DVD format.
