Quite a beasty laptop! Mine with an i5 and dedicated GPU is only running off a 90w PSU, what it's using exactly I dunno, but it's nowhere near as much as that!
Yeah seems strange for them to have taken out the WLAN LED, unless that got lost in translation somehow.
It's unlikely to be any cooler than the current slim, with a smaller fan and weaker heatsink in it, given that the CPU and GPU chips are still the same size as previous models.
Edit - It's probably going to cut costs for Sony, whether they'll pass along these savings to the consumer remains to be seen.
Seems that the CECH-2500 model is the one to go for as the smaller fan will have to work at higher rpms to achieve equal airflow to the old slim fans.
Hopefully there isn't much of a difference in noise, as the 2500 models are pretty damn quiet.
The Uncharted 2 one is pretty quality, as is the God of War 3 one, although my GoW 3 one did arrive from Sony partly broken lol.
The 3D on the PC version will be sort-of a USP, as well as the usual PC advantages of higher resolutions etc.
Haven't managed to get round to getting L.A. Noire yet on PS3 as I'm still sifting through a massive backlog, will probably pick up the PC version of it when it comes out in the Autumn as long as Rockstar optimise it properly unlike GTA IV on PC.
I doubt it, hasn't worked for Gary McKinnon and it seems it won't work for him

They aren't decreasing the fabrication size of the chips, the main article has got the wrong end of the stick, all that is being done is Sony are reducing the power of the PSU from 230w to 200w, PS3 only draws ~100w anyway now for most things.
But yeah, the Cell in the PS3 atm is 45nm and the RSX is a 40nm fabrication process.
Not a chance, when you break the warranty seal Sony won't replace it for you.
That and keyboard and mouse which is a lot more accurate than a DS3.
I hope they finally bring Wireless N to the PS3 with this revision, I'd be tempted to trade up from the slim I bought when they first launched if they add it in.
It works OK because it has a stylus, something the Wii U won't have.
Plus there is no multitouch amongst other things, something you expect (and get) now with capacitive touchscreens.
Pity it's Edge LED too, they'd have been better off just going CCFL if they weren't going to go the full hog and give it a full LED backlight.
Whoever wrote the article has clearly no clue about chips.
If they market it as a TV here in the UK when it comes over it'll have to have Freeview in it.
I'd imagine they won't though to cut costs, and encourage people to buy PlayTV.
Multiple discs doesn't matter on PC, you only ever need the main disc to play it as the rest will be installed.
PC has been having multi-disc installs for years, right back to the CD-ROM days.
And then everyone would point out that the PS3's web browser is actually pretty much dung and needs to be replaced asap.
Yeah my mistake, Dragon Quest not Dragon Age, my mistake :)
Anyway, wasn't a poor attempt to be negative, WKC was deeply flawed and didn't deserve a sequel.
It got 30fps @ DX9 maxed http://www.notebookcheck.ne...
DX11 at say medium should be playable, the new textures are a big deal it seems.
Was reading through it all here http://www.neogaf.com/forum...
