I was hoping GT PSP would be the definitive PSP racing title, bit crap that it's not, Polyphony had a long time to get this game right, even if it was a straight port of GT3 it'd still be awesome, it is a shame that they haven't. I know this is only the first review, but from what they've said, I'm not expecting much from the others.
Just gotta pin my hopes on Motorstorm now, hopefully it'll rock!

I think this is the way BC for PS3 will be for PS2 titles in the future, the big AAA titles will be remastered like this and sold. Just my opinion on it :)
I think the LBP one will come with the firmware to demo what the animated themes are like, just like the way the air paint theme came with 2.4 to show what custom themes were like.
It could well be coming to PS3, as it's coming to PC and 'consoles', they just haven't specified yet.

The real buttons seem odd for some reason on the PS3 after having gotten used to the heat-sensitive ones on the current PS3.

He is right though with what he said about episodic gaming, Siren on PS3 got it sort of right with the releasing of content, just a pity the game wasn't all that great.
Surely the whole point of episodic gaming is to have the games released more frequently?
Valve (in my opinion) have missed the point of tbh, yes they've done it right length and price right but not for the releasing of them, there's too much time.
It's a pity Valve aren't going to bother with PS3 now, as they have some tremendous stuff, but it's Gabe Newell's loss, the fat twat.

Patent filing and actual realization of the patent are two very different things considering this patent was filed back in 2007, and most seem to detail EE emulation well but sort of skimp over GS.
GS emulation is one hell of a task due to extremely high edram bandwidth.
Still, if they can pull this off, many will be very, very happy, including customers, third-parties and Sony itself, so it does make sense to work on it very hard...
I can't see universal BC coming, as Sony (so far) have only been able to emulate the Emotion Engine (in the EU 60GB models), it's the PS2's GPU that is a major blocking point.
If some form of BC was to come it'd be my guess that any PS2 games put on the store would be hypothetically re-coded or whatever so that they can work on the PS3, say big hitting titles like MGS series and Gran Turismo.
That'd be my guess, that specific titles will be re-worked somehow to work ...
