I would be more mad if I bought a new system and:
3 months later it was 100.00 cheaper
6 months later a version that is $200.00 cheaper has all the features.
I think this model is what the Elite should have been. However, if I want to go out and play NG2 i can buy a core for 279 and enjoy the game just like any model. With the Ps3 you have to dish out atleast 399.99 period.

Sometimes a game is great but it just isn't that great a game.
Example, Eternal Sonata looks amazing, plays amazing but the game is an 8.3 to me. Sometimes being good isn't good enough.

Whats funny about your furture proof console is
1) It's still not done as in game music is still missing.
2) The controller had to be redesigned a year into the life cycle.
I think this genrations shows us that things are changing on how we view consoles. Most generations now will revolve around the design evolving as it goes along. It has always been this way..
