I'm sure that's a paradox - this helps you save money, yet you have to sepnd money to buy it!
It's another one of those explorative ideas - great technology that's totally useless for it's original intended purpose, but will probably be good for something else.
It's expanding, and that's a good thing. In 30 years, it'll be more like the movie industry, with the likes of Call of Duty, God of War and Halo being the Hollywood blockbusters and more indie projects being celebrated with cult followings.
I don't think I'd bother, really. Maybe if I saw them really cheap... maybe.
