They learned their lessons from Nintendo. They barely tip their toes in everything. Go hard or go home. Sony went in with good technology at a decent price. If I had a similar electronic company providing quality for a high end product that would be vizio and Sony themselves for television sets. They hit the perfect middle ground of tech vs price.
This is like releasing a console within a console. This PSVR unit has potential to cut into sales of the NX and Xbox. Now instead of buying a second console many will be buying a PSVR unit. I expect the lifetime sales of the PSVR to at least surpass the Wii and maybe outpace the NX in sales. Growing the PS4 fanbase.

Yes. Anytime something drives games sales it is a clear indicator of success. Especially if the numbers are as big as they indicated.
The poll says 35% and 35% maybe. The PS4 will reach 100 million units sold. 35% of that is 35 million. This poll is pretty clear more than 35% will but it if 35% say maybe. PSVR clearly has a shot at between 30 to 45 million sold.
Lending credence to the truth that the 400 price point is perfect. That people can get these things separately. Cheaper than a bundle. If they don't already have it. Boom they have a fulll virtual experience for 450 dollars after accessories. Not bad. Some just pay for the system if they already have it. Some will never buy it and just use the PSVR headset and a controller.

Yes it's possible. It's gonna be a day when virtual reality is probably like it's own console. So PSVR is directly competing with Nintendo and Microsoft. The good thing about it for PlayStation is it's on Sony as it's own separate experience. One day a virtual reality console/Sony regular console may launch together. Where it's sole purpose is built to play virtual games but can also play regular console games. That may be the PS5 direction.
Wooo! That's a lot of units. I'm thinking it reaches easily over 35 million units lifetime. Like a moderate successful console. Such as the original Xbox.
It's their AAA title. So the developer needs to take this title very seriously. A full game for virtual reality is necessary to show it can provide those experience. I believe it'll be phenomenal.
If you would ask virtual reality to sell 35% of a potential 100 million consoles? I'm sure Sony would take it immediately. This figure is suggested 70% are probably willing. That would equal over 70 million PSVR sold. This site is taking these numbers wrong. 35% of a potential 100 million consoles sold platform is 35 million PSVR units moved by the end of the cycle. That's more than some successful consoles like Sega Genesis.
That's not that split. It's a very large percentage for virtual reality to start off with. That's 35% immediately buying. That's another 35% maybe. That's nearly 70% of a huge installation base.
The more I see this game the more fun it looks.
It is that big of a possible threat. It could eat into console sales of a new system potentially launching like NX. It could cause the PS4 to be even more widely bought. The ripple effect is unknown. Depends on how huge exactly PSVR takes off. Which already looking like it's gonna be really big.

Yep. Kinect also didn't allow you to use it in every game and movie released like virtual reality will. Virtual Reality is like Kinects older JJ Watt brother. Kinect is like the younger Justin Beiber before working out. Lol.
