Sony did exactly what it wanted and it directly benefited gamers. Gamestop didn't want Sony to price digital downloads cheaper than retail games. Sony knew that with the PSPGo even PSP owners with UMD drives would purchase downloadable titles given the option. Since Gamestop knows the Downloadable titles are the ones that are selling and they need to clear stock, sony has indirectly forced their hand to drop prices. if you listen to music you never have to lose your space in a game because of the save state feature and the included 16GB let's you get upto 32Gb of storage. Also it's much much much smaller than the 3000, you'll probably forget it's in your pocket.
The reviews are the same with the PS3 at launch, not justified.
