You can't blame people on their lack of knowledge in a system that is for example for their child or or a present.
I mean it's a Nintendo product, and most people expect it to be child and user friendly.

I'll actually buy this pokemon game, I stopped buying after Platinum.
I would've put the first above the second, but the extremely frustrating camera angles and slow paced game was a little bit of a bummer, the game doesn't pick up until chapter 2 or 3 in NG 1, but I do have to admit fighting the nun chuck guy at the beg was pretty epic way to start the game lol!
Anyways I suggest you give it a chance, the main difference is, NG 1 plays much like a VS (fighter) game with adventure, while the second one plays more like an adventure with ...

I like the Nintendo controller I think it's pretty cool, but I honestly could also live without it. It's no game changer, I think I mostly like it because it remind me of the VMU version 2.0.:P
Also you can give some points to Sony for being pretty damn good at Future proofing their products. They were quick to jump into 3D, motion, and now event he Wii U controller.

Graphics are terrible and the controls are wonky. I had the Jap version.
The graphics were never said to be exactly like the ps3, just mentioned as close, and they were mostly referring to the experience.

Yes I agree I think Ninja gaiden or Rayman deserved great respect for ports...but honestly there are quite a lot of amazing port jobs...Disgaea 3 and even Sonic All stars....both were done amazingly!

I played the game for a couple of hours and actually never experienced slow down...and the visuals are NO WHERE near as bad as ppl are making them out to be.

Majority of the games u named are first party:) With the exception of some that didn't use the wii hardware to it's fullest... I'll give you xenoblade though, that game was awesome.
