There is absolutely a 1280x1080p, 1080p states the render of 1080 pixels in height.
FHD is 1920x1080 but there are plenty of variations of 1080p which can be customly scaled by developers.
Just because the market only introduces you to 720p, 900p and 1080p as they are standard doesn't mean that that's all there is.

Look at it this way, do you like the idea of getting a console LAUNCH that can't do 1080p? Usually if it can't do launch 1080p and for a simple game like mario then I can't expect any game that will do 1080p unless its a downloadable.

The problem in my eyes is, this console is already out of day before it even launches.
Even the Ps3 and 360 were late for the HD world, seeing as when they came out 1080p started becoming standard for HD TVs.

The only jaggies I've noticed is in Shadows, which I'm sure they had to tweak the shadow resolution to get it to a playable and consistent frame rate.
Shadows are a big hit on frames, especially since we're dealing with a big city, and judging by the graphics a very detailed cit, you can see where they had to cut corners.

Logical is the wrong word...considering that gloassy is a nice finish if maintained properly, top loading tray also has advantages such as if god forbid the system dies you can still get the disk out, unlike the slot loaders, and it's still better than a tray which creates a very unstable platform feel.
Those aren't logical cons, they are just self-opinion cons, they reflect nothing more than personal problems.

You can't base your results only on previous games, there are plenty of companies that needed a longer journey to find their sweet spot.
Naughty Dog was almost going to disappear from bankruptcy yet they came back and did the uncharted Series.
Also look at Polyphony, they made some Mario Kart knock off first then went on to create the Uncharted Series.

I dont understand why ppl wouldn't be? It's the only portable variation of the game. It contains it's out story line. It's cheaper and frankly it might actually be decent.
Ppl honestly forget that games are optional, they take every release sooo personal, even more when it's a title that they have 0 interest in.

remember guys these images are ballooned on our laptop/monitor screens, it will look much better on the actual handheld. Same goes for the 3DS, I don't take screenshots too seriously...it always looks much better on the actual unit:)
Nfs the run 3Ds look like garbage off screens, although still looked bad on the 3Ds, it was MUCH better when actually playing it.

1080p means 1080 pixels in progressive scan it's not God Damn set resolution, I can't believe how oblivious you can be.

It seems that a lot of posters are letting personal feelings come into play and completely neglect logic.
Industry Standard has changed, we don't even use HD to refer to 1080p alone anymore. We statd, SD, QHD, FHD etc.
