Playstation store had another sale yesterday, i was able to pick up Horizon Zero Dawn and Rise of the Tomb Raider for $38.
True, but if you look at the trend of gaming. With the advancement of hardware comes demand to get as much as possible from these hardware. in addition, gamers want better games with better graphic. You can see by all the comment on N4G people gets so worked up comparing graphics. Developers are trying to meet these demands and this is what driving up cost.
Beyonce looks great... with a team of professional make up artist. Take all the make up away. She's just an average woman who can sing and is very rich. My wife, she is naturally beautiful without the make up. So i will stick with my wife.

I was not talking about battlefront specifically. It was more general of what the gaming industry have become. Everything is more about how can we make more money with DLC or Microtransactions?

i agree with you. But the majority of the time the DLC are torn from the base game. DLC should be an after thought when developing a game.

Remember those days where you have to do something special in the game to unlock secret characters or unlocked characters? Now, in order to unlock character you have to swipe your credit card. This is why i hate DLC and microtransactions. Instead making the best game they can, their priority is, "how can we make more money?". I understand that games are getting more expensive to make, but i rather developer increase the price of a game instead of implementing crap like this.

Even with the Xbox one X out now, i predict that the PS4 will maintain it 50% lead over the xbox. XboxoneX sales will be great, but its near the holiday season. PS4 prices will go down and it will help sell consoles. Nintendo need to make more Switch if they want to sell more consoles for the holiday.

I work in the health industry as an engineer (I'm also a dentist). But right now, I'm exploring VR for medical procedures and training of new students who are interested in the field. In terms of health related, VR is a very very good tools to use. Its great for training, great for exploring new procedure, and it is absolutely awesome for practice run before the actual procedure. Unfortunately, not a lot of software for the medical fields.
There's always the Nintendo Switch if ps4 or Xbox games are too violent.

So, is the xb1x a "next gen" console? Because it sounds like it from fans and developers. Because when the ps5 comes out, we all know it would probably be more powerful than the xb1x. But it would be considered a next gen. So how would we categorize the xb1x? It almost double the power of the ps4 pro.
Probably wait for when there are exclusive games for it before i buy. My xbox one and PS4 pro will hold me over for now. But for those who dont have an xbox yet, its definitely a buy.

Yep it is a niche console just like the PS4 pro. However, i will not doubt that the exclusive games will look gorgeous on the xbx once its released. Just take a look at the exclusives on the PS4. They look gorgeous, imagine what some of these exclusives can potentially look like if Microsoft put a lot effort to make games to look like this. I just hope they really learn from their mistakes.

PS4 have been out for more than 4 years whereas the Switch is considered a new console. When you have a new console, you have hype and new exclusives to push the sale of new consoles. Gamers will likely flock to new technology and this is what is happening.
A Better comparison is comparing PS4 year 1 to Switch year 1 or wait 4 years to see where the switch is comparison to the PS4 in the same period.
