@Thantalas

And that's the issue here. It's the way he feel about Xbox VS the way he felt about bing and how he defended them both. I mean he didn't even talk about Xbox until he was actually pushed by the host.

@True_Samurai

He never said Xbox was a core part of their strategy however he did say they will have a gaming presence.

The hardships of wanting to watch stuff live and UK timing :p.

E3 is going to be so good this year.

True they did fund the competition of the project at the time EA not willing to fund the project for unknown reasons which give them the intial 13 month exclusivity before becoming a full MS exclusive around E3 but TF is not an MS IP in anyway.

Loool that will be like saying the co-marketing partnership with Destiny and PS4 is not the reason it's getting content early and is going to marketed the most.

Same deal same strategy. DLCs has nothing to do with lead platform. MS and Sony pay for those deals

Meant to say unproven...

"The company signed a 10-year contract with Bungie in 2010 that gives it worldwide distribution rights and significant control over the potential franchise's development.

"If you're making a $500 million bet you can't take that chance with someone else's IP," Activision CEO told the Milken conference. "The stakes for us are getting bigger."

Analysts said $500 million would like...

Well this isn't going to go well. Way too much money for something that's not unproven and established even with a studio like Bungie.

"Some analysts estimate that Take-Two Interactive, the publisher of "Grand Theft Auto," spent over $260 million to develop, produce and market the fifth installment, though it's unclear whether that's comparable with Activision's own $500 million figure" - This is crazy because Activision is still going...

Seriously people need to watch the video words only tell one part of the story here. Xbox is being very carefully watched. When he was talking about bing he believed that to be an essential part of MS and something he felt should be tightly integrated with MS. However, when he was talking about gaming he did say the decision was up to Nadella but the way he answered it without thinking or remorse at the lose of Xbox division as a core of MS was pretty telling. That shows he's very much in...

Yh no. As long as the cooperate and consumer world heavy depend on Office and Windows MS is not going anywhere anytime soon. Windows Phone doesn't matter too much but it hasn't been doing great, it has overly gone up in market share by a bit,

This sounds like a non-story... All gates is doing is showing support for the new ceo Nadella and according to Phil Spencer he thinks it is a part of their strategy going forward as mentioned by gates also.

Only thing note-worthy is the mention of Xbox because to me it shows that investors are keeping a close eye on Xbox so they can't be doing any crazy deals or making that much loses.

Can't believe am so what excited for COD. That isn't happened since mw2. Really want to see what they can do here for once.

"The problem is that X1 has the better games" - Again completely subjective. Correct wording is it has the most retail exclusives. PS4 has the most Digital exclusives.

And right now until fall it looks like the roles have reversed in exclusive content.

"The power perception has pushed PS4 ahead, but I don't believe that resolution gate will be there after E3 or at most by year end" - Yh keep thinking there will be a 1:1 parity with bot...

Reposting again....
Sony are indeed at a disadvantage here due to OS design for entertainment (Oneguide, Snap, Kinect), tight multi-platform integration of services however they are going to have a entertainment play with PS4 also which is not included in this article.

One Sony have their IPTV service coming soon which could be big.

Two Sony also have original programming for PS4 which is being developed by their entertainment division.

Thanks for the summary that's a lot of halo XB1 is getting :p well it's not surprising given it's MS's most loved and successful franchise.

Majority of people will buy an Xbox one to play halo not watch it.

How many things are they doing with halo so far because it seems like quite a fair bit.

"Besides China, Microsoft's Xbox One will also debut in 28 other countries in September, such as India, Japan, Korea and Singapore for a total number of 42. Previously, only 26 markets had been confirmed" - Total number of 42. Which is wrong anyways because the only country not on the list is china all the other countries they list are in the new 26 markets list which makes it 40 not 42.

*40 in total.

26 new http://news.xbox.com/2014/0... + 13 launch + china. It's actually 40

@nicksetzer1

You can spin it your way I can spin it mine. The rest of the quote shows he was talking about development - "I have no idea if this means DLC (I assume MS locked that down for multiple years) but COD was a XBOX 360 game that happened to be on the ps3 last gen"

Now let's look and the quote from MS "and again brings all add-on content first to Xbox" and then let's look at how it started --> 4436d ago 2 agree4 disagreeView comment

@nicksetzer1

" the lead platform would be the one that is getting DLC first, has it's logo at the end of the trailers and whos console is used for MLG tournaments. (Hint: all xbox)" - You're not making any sense he even said himself that MS's deal is probably a multi year deal. Like porkChop said lead platform is to do with development not how a game is marketed.
