Sony admitted that to date, their still not 100% sure what was compromised. So did you read somewhere on the Interwebz that only basic info was taken or just come to that conclusion all by yourself? I think you should probably take your own advice, because for everyone that has their own credit information on PSN and not mom and dads, it sucks and can cause problems far down the road.
If your old enough to have a credit card and do have one, then the possibility of the info being stolen is annoying. And if your unlucky enough to have had someone steal your info or had to deal with anything like this, then you understand how long this could affect you and what a headache cleaning things up can be.
I'm glad that this is being looked into more intricately because I've had to personally fight to get unauthorized charges taken care of in the past. Not...
At what point did I actually say the point system was the greatest thing about Live? When in fact did I actually say anything about the point system being better then XYZ option from other consoles? I simply asked how it affects the end user. I use each and every point I buy, so I never have an excess of points that I am unable to use. So how am I paying for something that I don't need? Would I rather buy something that had a direct corelation to the cost? Of course, but I'll take eve...
If you could afford both systems then wouldn't have to worry about that. Just ask mom and dad next christmas.
What??? What exactly are you getting at? How exactly is the point system garbage and how does it affect the end user?
I guess the PS3's purchase system is really great though huh??? Oh wait, you can't do anything online with the PS3 because the network is down.
Go ahead and compare the amount of demos and trial games on the 2 systems as well, the 360 trumps the PS3's weak list of demos. Also go ahead and compare the intuitive menus. I have bot...
The 360 Network hasn't been hacked. Both the PS3 and 360 systems have, but only the PS3 when it comes to networks. When was the 360 network hacked?
Why not have both systems anyways? In this day and age gamers have to deal with BS like lawyers trying to make stricter laws because some deranged, backwoods, idiot of a teenager killed someone and happened to like FPS games. So the lawyer blames the gaming industry and wants to set in place laws prohibiting certain content in games.
If you don't have both systems already then your missing great games. If I didn't have my 360 then I would miss out on Halo, Gears of ...
They should have had a CIO position before this all went down. That probably played a big roll in having out dated security software. It's funny they decided to actually add that position after this all went down.
But if you remember or were reading about things in the tech world a few years back, Two major Antivirus companys had their networks hacked. One of those companys was Symantec, and if someone can get into their network then others should be easier by compariso...
Regardless if this is fake or real... There's a ton of banks, CC companys and Credit unions where individual account holders set the amount of their card limit. Anyone here who actually is old enough to, and has an account from one of the business I mentioned should know that. I set my card from a credit union to $15,000 for 2 weeks to pay for a down payment on my house and a new R1 a week later. I never told them what I was purchasing or when, just to set the amount to a specific dollar...
How many companys do you know that offer to pay for consumers issues when they didn't cause the issues? Their ( Sony ) doing these things because...
A- They have no faith in what they are telling everyone.
B- They know credit info was compromised and are offering to shell out literally millions of dollars for something that is bound to surface down the road.
C- Think their fans are gullible enough to believe everything they say and hope these things wi...
Ohh and quick note on Japanese big business. They tend to downplay bad news or just avoid saying anything about it at all. Remember the recent earthquake in Japan, the company that owns the Nuclear power plant said there was no risk to people living near the facility, and that the issue was being taken care of so for the public not to worry. This is a typical practice for many big businesses, but the japanese companys take it to a whole new level.
* Mr. Hirai confirmed that customer’s security codes for their credit cards were not compromised...
* Sony will consider covering the cost of reissuing new cards for those affected.
* Sony will consider paying for identity theft protection services in each country of those affected.
If no security codes were compromised then why consider covering the cost of reissuing new cards or paying for identity theft protection services? If their ...

Ohh and have you ever heard of this little game called " World of Warcraft ?" It's this MMORPG for the PC, and believe it or not they charge you a monthly fee to play. Even when you paying for internet service separately, you still have to pay to play their game. Crazy huh, and you can find examples of this all over the place.
@Klaykid123
No the PSN is free because ( PSN Home ) is garbage. Anyone who has both systems and uses the online feature of each understands. I regularly use Live and Home, home feels so outdated compared to live. Not to mention their serious lack in Demos and trial games compared to 360.
And before you start flinging the fanboy comments, I have a PS3 and 360. The 360 online features are intuitive and give you vast choices. The PSN Home menus are sloppy, ...
Seriously, most of you assume that this is either...
- A fake story
- Not going to happen to you because you're 1 out of 70,000,000
- Or that the CC info is Encrypted so well that it's impossible to get to
Well here's some news for you. A few years back there were 2 major Anti Virus Manufacturers that were hacked into ( Symantec and Trend Micro ). These are companys that focus only on security versus someone like Sony who is a gaming c...
Well" Surt", your helping me prove my point with the fanboyism. I have over 150 hours into Black Ops on each system, same with W.A.W, MW1 and MW2. I have the games for each system simply because I have a few friends who don't have both systems, but still play those games. If it were 1 game alone where I experienced it then I would chalk it up to just chance. But with each of those games I experience a significant drop in difficulty when playing on the PS3 versions. Again I have ...

You don't directly pay for good service at a grocery store, so does that mean the employees should treat customers that shop there like trash?
No. So stop saying you get what you pay for.
Umm actually you do pay for good service at a grocery store. The whole concept of a grocery store is to purchase food and be given service from the employees which are paid by the store in which you are doing the shopping at. Not to m...

Black Ops campaign was intense, I enjoyed it. I am used to their being a new COD title every year just like Madden and some of the other sports titles.
If it's not for you then don't buy it, but lots of people love the COD games.
I enjoy Black Ops over most of the previous COD titles, for a simple fact that there is no stupid death streaks, Kill Stre...
Yeah but Kakihara, there is a key word in your paragraph... Demo. I'm guessing that means you haven't played the game a lot and are rather new to it which means you probably are not going to be the number 1 player. I wouldn't get down on myself too much for not excelling at a demo.
This is not traffic court, it's a class action suit dealing with a multi national, multi billion dollar company.
