Yes, it is better than XBL in term of free stuff you got. But some gamers don't even care about the free stuff. We buy game, and we want to play it. That's what we got on PS3. If you want free stuff you buy PS+, But now, you don't care about free stuff! you need to buy PS+ to access your other half of the game.
Give you old games (some may you already own), themes (Some don't care, except for little boys and girls), early betas and demos, etc.
I bought my $60 dollars game. I just want to play it online that came with it, But you have to pay fee to access.
And when BF4 comes out, you can rent dedicated server from EA like BF3 + Sony monthly fee to access it. Wonderful, milking gamers is the greatest innovation ever!

I am losing $60 bucks a month. I need to charge to upgrade faster bandwidth in the future.
If M$ doesn't FORCED DRM in Xbox One. $ony would never FORCED to pay to play online. Because M$ would put up a better competition. That is why competition is good for consumers...
