The problem is that Uncharted's campaign is more interactive media than it is a game, you are always heading down a dedicated path, scripted events at every corner. Bigger environments would take from the overall flow I don't see that changing.
It's not trying to be an open, approach from every angle experience.
If anything I'd prefer it to include less but more refined combat, so that it would focus on what it is, a cinematic interactive sto...
I thought it was live action with a CG blend, isn't it? What I mean is a top tier animated film ie. like in this trailer, Blizzard cinemantics or the Assassin's pre rendered bits.
There actually was an animated short to hype up AC:Revelations, but it was "cartoony". I really want to see something as detailed as these cinematics/trailers, that'd be awesome :)
Unless something like that exists, then please direct me to it :D
PS1 player or did you get the beta page to work? (been only getting maintenance mode alert)
I was really surprised myself by the quality of the CGI, makes you wonder when we might see an animated film/short film done by a video game studio to promote their franchise.
Zynga opened at 10, shot up to 16 and is now at 3.20
They are falling pretty fast. I'm wondering if a Facebook buyout would be a possible outcome. They basically already own them and with how their stock is doing, a merger might not be so insane.
@Soldierone
We don't live in a world where Zynga's CEO is going to take a massive pay cut to save their employees, there are jobs at stake here.
guessing it's some kind of easter egg
Not sure if disinterested or amused.
I guess there's something to it, hot damn if they actually would snag the Vivendi shares and take over a chunk of Activsion, that would change everything.
Think of all the gamers they could round up with exclusivity/timed exclusive over CoD? That's a hardware pushing title. Also other franchises that could be revived for the next gen, such as Guitar Hero.
It's too early to say, but you raise some valid points.

I can see the board members in front of me...
well of course they're not directly promoting it, but with how piracy was previously seen in India they might as well.
I'm wondering if they simply looked at their sales demographics and concluded that the people who could afford expensive games would make them more money than the people who'd be waiting for discounts, but I can't imagine that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in one of the screenshots it seems as if this is an FPS. Without the third person traversal, cover/shooting, and stealth mechanics, I don't see how this can be like Uncharted, apart from the setting (which if anything is an Indiana Jones setting :P)
I get it, though I wouldn't call it an Uncharted wannabe if it's an FPS.
That's exactly what I was thinking, especially because Isaac is supposedly not going to have visions with Carver around.
What I would have loved as a co-op mode was if two players started at two ends and simultaneously work towards a single goal, in the end the insanity visions match you up against one another without even knowing it, as both players fight for their survival.
Trying to market the game to people who aren't fans of the series is ridiculous, especially now that it's an established franchise. The sad thing however is that it works.
Resident Evil used its name to lure in new gamers and has moved away from survival horror (before anybody disagrees, I mean survival horror gameplay, leaving the idea of scares out of the picture). The horror fans make up a niche market, Masachika Kawata (the producer behind Resident Evil Chronicles) even a...
Something Papoutsi said which had me thinking if going with a no-name silent partner would have been better was the following:
"We felt a great place [was] being on the headsets, online with your friend [and] you could still have that very custom experience for you, seeing only what you see and we felt that was really going to deliver on a very good, cooperative experience. So that’s the direction we went."
Instead of having Isaac and Carver saying ...

If Apple ever wants to break into the gaming market, this is one of their platforms they have to push, even if it takes a back seat right now.
