That's the exact position I'm in now. So long MS, you made my choice of future console for me.
I saved for months for my Astro A40 set! That's the last fucking straw MS! I am dOne with you.
After all the total sh!t MS is pulling I'm going straight for the PS4 when it comes out.
"Won the US market?! Surely you can't be serious."
"I am serious. And don't call me Shirley."
This is the only news about Xbox One that I'm actually excited about.
MS alienated a huge chunk of their most loyal, core games today. I think they're beginning to realize that, and can't get their stories straight about needing an internet connection, and having to play full price for a game that someone else uses. I'd love to be a fly on the wall at MS right now to hear them freaking out saying "Oh God, what have we done!"
I think the recent trend for games to use the dynamic of a adult male player character charged with protecting a young female who is of significant importance is because it's emotionally powerful, and very natural. I have some little nieces who I cherish immensely, and I know there's literally nothing on Earth I wouldn't do to protect them.
Because if more than 2 people bring their games to your place to hang out and play them, you'd need at least 2 different consoles, or everyone would have to swap in their own hard drive. Otherwise someone's going to have to buy the same game more than once.
They're definitely not getting mine.
Turns out that "fee" is now being reported by virtually everyone to be the full retail price of the game. Basically, you have to buy the game again anytime you play it on a new Live account.
So if I get together with some friends for a gaming marathon, and every one brings a couple games to share, at $70 per game that isn't already tied to my account, we could conceivably have to pay $1000 to play the games we already own?
The 2 most important questions I tuned in for have still not been adequately explained. Can I play my games without an always on connection, and can I play used games. Virtually all the comment buzz going on now is people trying to get a clear answer.
I'm a gamer. I like to play videogames, I like to borrow my friend's games, sometimes I like to rent games, I like to play original Xbox games, and if I'm disappointed with a game I like to trade it in and maybe get a used game. Are you telling me my entire gaming way of life is over, Microsoft? Are you telling me I can't even play my games without you having a mandatory, always-on camera watching me and analyzing everything I'm doing? Are you telling me that I shouldn...
I totally agree.
You mean the same hands that made a mess of the Dragon Age and Mass Effect franchises? No, I don't think so.
Nazis actually killed more than a quarter of my extended family going back three generations, so I'm happy to virtually shoot as many of them as I can.
I am so psyched for this!
Anyone would sink at 180 million pounds.
When we were kids my brother and I spent $500 in quarters on Street Fighter 2 in the arcade over one spring break. Modern day, I've replayed Dragon Age: Origins probably 30 times just to get all the dialogue and romance options, and I still haven't gotten through all the dlc yet.
By cautious optimism, I assume they mean searing hatred.
