@Rumble, if you look at the game as if it were on paper or just through trailers you'd think they are kindred spirits. If you played both betas, one feels better and more rewarding than the other. Battleborn just made me yearn for borderlands 3, overwatch made me happy I have a competitive shooter that takes the same amount if not less time than a cod match, but with deeper mechanics. Idk, I loved battleborn in the closed technical test, but after playing the open beta, it didn't feel...

Beta ended yesterday. I'm having withdrawals. Haven't had this much fun since I experienced rocket league last july. I played cod last night, I could jetpack, but it wasn't the same without Phara. Truly a fun game that will have a huge competitive scene.

You can play against AI with your friends or others online against bots. Also customers game allows for more freedom. So quick play AI is pve in a sense
There will be more modes I believe and more added in the summer. The beta has what felt like more maps than cod. I played 2.5 hours my first time with it and didn't play the same map twice. It was surreal. At any rate, I'm sorry you felt disappointed. It's a competitive arena shooter with objectives. If that's not up your alley. I can understand why you'd pass
