I'm in the top 500. My win loss is 55% to get high up in ranks it's about win streak. I was rank 60, won 17 matches in a row. After my 4th win in a row, each win after that that's consecutive was a full rank pretty much. Make friends, form strategies. That's all you can do.
Also from just reading your complaint. Mercy is no longer a viable healer. You need a Lucio and Zenyatta combo for support. They both out heal a mercy and their ults are easier to come by. She's just no good anymore in a meta. Other thing is, try to main at least 3 different characters, know your strengths when playing in premade groups so you can counter respectively. I made 20 something friends on ps4 just in overwatch. That's the secret to coordinated teams. Make friends who compliment your play style. Now in the 70s where I'm at, both teams are coordinated and it's a bare knuckle brawl for wins. It's pretty intense
I'm a little meh about the rewards. I hit 37 in the top 500 on ps4 as well as competitive rank 77 as my highest, I've already got a gold weapon for phara. I guess I'm just bummed. I got diablo on ps4 for $30, it's been on sale half off 3 times now.
It's a really fun game just as I remembered. At any rate the major selling point here is shareplay. Having a friend being able to play with you with only one purchase of the game is quite a benefit. Definitely pick it up if it goes on sale. It's enjoyable and the story is entertaining from a hero fan standpoint

@Otter I agree. I could play maybe 2-3 matches either competitive or coop, but that was my limit. In comparison I can play overwatch all day. Idk what it is, but I think I just like the hero's and abilities better
