Quite the opposite really. From what I read according to Nvidia they are focusing their Tegra X chips on cars and AI, meaning they are not focusing in gaming at least not with this chips. Which this suggest that "report" from Eurogamer is fake and gay. According to some news I read like 2 days ago AMD it's doing some chips for the upcoming consoles...so go figure.

Normally I would I agree with you but this is different, yes we don't want another clone like MS and SOny but the difference is that they don't have what Nintendo has and it's the IPs that Nintendo makes 1st party games, those games what encorages people to consider buying a nintendo console but also it's not enough.
If nintendo launches a console where basically I can play the next smash bros, the next mario kart, the next metroid and I can play the next assasin'...

I think it's possible the NES can outsell ps4 and xbox one, I mean it's only $60 the price of a triple A game. My only concern it's if Nintendo can keep up with the demand like amiibo launch.
Let's hope Nintendo is ready for it.
The amswer it's simple, Sony doesn't care about backwards compatibility, I mean there was a reason why playsation Tv was created right? I mean they have already sold like over 40 milion consoles so why would they care to please the customers by wasting time and resources making that? Right now their priority it's the NEO which most likely come out this fall, their game lineup coming this holidays and next year and the gimmick a.k.a. VR set.
First thing this article sucks balls. Now I've been saying this for a long time, ever since Kimishima became the CEO, things have turned around for Nintendo(not trashing Iwata). Pokemon go and Miitomo are just an example of what Nintendo tries to do, they want to get the casual market but not with Nintendo hardware anymore, but with mobile app cause they know their hardware can't compete against phones unless NIntendo makes their own smartphones line which I highly doubt it.
