I've already said my peace on a youtube video, regarding this idea that it was 'misogynistic trolls' that chased her out of her home. No it wasn't, it was 10 tweets from a dummy twitter account that mentions NOTHING about gaming. Let the law take its course and bag these guys. HOWEVER. Just cause she's got legit threats doesn't mean she's above reproach. No one deserves death/rape threats. But it sure as hell means we can't criticize her. Or any person, man or ...
An option for a female link has nothing to do with female gamers. I'm pretty sure both guys and girls would want to play as a female Link, and female gamers don't necessarily need or want to play as a female Link. If the option ever becomes available, then it'd be because Link is meant to be an avatar character that the player projects themselves onto, NOT because more girls play the game. It's patronizing to assume that women will want a playable female option just cause they...
Whoa, the SJW are going to have a FIELD DAY with this one! Also, the comments on both here and the main article actually make me crease. Hilarious how no one actually takes this seriously, but SJW will make such a fuss about it. 'Wah wah, digital boobs are ruining the game industry'. Right. Because badly designed fanservice games with scenery graphics like a PS2 game are clearly the pinnacle of game design and we should expect better :V #scrapingthebottom
Exactly. None of this crap about 'harassment' or 'glass ceilings' or 'a boys' club'. Like Bonnie Ross in 343 Industries, she just got on with it. Those are the sort of people we should respect
No recharge? SO i guess this isn't like Crysis then. It means that you'll have to think about things strategically and it won't be useful for longevity. I can just imagine the balancing issues of someone with constant cloak/stim using it to get high killsteaks.
Having the option is nice. In Crysis 3, there was a no suit mode, it made the game very different and the meta-game was very interesting. Without the powers of the suit, you began to think differently and worry more about getting blindsided. Admittedly, having a no Exo mode in AW might attract people away from the core mechanics of the game and drag people back to COD's old gameplay, but there's nothing wrong with a classic mode for people who want the option. So it's all good
I said exactly what you did in the article. My point was that this actually happens a lot, and it's understandable why. I even mentioned how it's just a timed exclusive.
I wish people would've read the article. The title was actually about how people 'feel' betrayed and how this sorta thing happens all the time. I was actually giving a history of how the game industry secures exclusives down the line. Please read the article before dismissing it.
That was exactly what I said in the article, just to point that out :p
I sorta agree yeah. I assume you read my article and wasn't aiming that at me, haha.
Damn, that's such too far. I remember people were giving Lara Croft's voice actor shit about this, as if somehow she's directly involved in it. I truly and honestly feel bad for everyone who's losing out on this game until the timed exclusivity ends, but damn man, people are looking for anything to vent their frustration on. And that's not cool
Oh, the pin up girls on the box 'offend you'? You know what I do when something offends me? I act like a MATURE ADULT and ignore it, and spend my time and effort on something that actually matters to me. It's this thing called: COMMON SENSE.
Oh my GOD, this retarded rhetoric is the LOWEST OF THE LOW. How FAR will people go to discredit COD? First, it was that COD was the same thing every year. Then it was that COD's engine was outdated (as if that matters). And then it was that Ghosts was the 'worst' because 'reasons', since they can't complain about it being the same. And now it's Advanced Warfare is copying Titanfall? How far will logic need to degrade before people start saying COD is bad because it...
And just like that, the clickbait leeches begin their vile narrative
Too soon to call. This gen kinda just started.
Thanks for the constructive criticism ;)
I agree with the article. I think that variety and well written characters is the key. We should be able to keep our raunchy fanservice while at the same time having more smartly written games and characters. That way, everyone's happy and even though the elitists will still criticize the sleazy stuff, at least they have alternatives. I am also of the mind that a sexualized character showing off a ton of skin isn't inherently bad, especially when they have a deep story/personality, li...
Exactly, it's a very strange assumption that having more women making games will SOMEHOW mean that women will like it more. It's like that dumb idea that having more female characters or female leads will make more women like it; that's so ignorant.
Not everything women make appeals to all women; not in books, movies, music or TV. So to assume the same for games is silly. Last time I checked, women are people, individuals, just like men. Therefore, they'll ma...
Haha, beat him to the punch I see
Careful... Have we not learned what happens when we appoint gaming messiahs? The game may look fun and it may even be a great game, but we have OURSELVES to blame when we expect too much and eat into sensationalist journalism. It was neither the fault of Titanfall nor Watch Dogs that the games themselves were slightly above average, it was the consumer for placing WAY too much expectation in something that clearly was going to just be an alright fun game. When you appoint gaming messiahs, you...
Oh by the way? Why doesn't this article talk about the humiliating and degrading way you're allowed to kill swarms of men (some of which are innocent policemen forced to do it cause their lives are at stake) in Metal Gear Rising? How that game makes humor out of amputating people? Surely that's a trigger warning for amputees who lost their limbs in war. I mean, SURELY that game is misandric for its treatment of male victims who lose their limbs in conflicts. I mean come on, you ca...
