Actually, this happens With almost all big AAA games. First week sales generally account for 90% of a games lifetime sales. Seldom are there titles with long legs.
Not even if you can play games like Dark Souls 3 and Skyrim on the go?
Oh man, that's nice. I WANTS it.
It was flop because noone believed in it in the first place. They never fully invested in quality games. Thing is, if a system doesn't have many games, people don't buy it. That logic doesn't work, you can't decide to not invest in a platform because it's not popular. It's the investment that makes a system popular, which is what moves software and hardware.
They never invested in it in the first place, though. If you want things to sell, you have to release good games or good ports, not crappy ports. Mass Effect 3 was nice; however, they announced Mass Effect 3 for Wii U for $60, and then announced Mass Effect Trilogy for everything else for $60. That's just plain stupid. Of course people aren't going to buy that version.
If you want to make money on a system, you have to properly invest in it. Because what sells syste...
I think all the ports are a good idea, because Wii U was CRIMINALLY underappreciated. Hopefully, these ports will give people a chance to finally enjoy these awesome games.
Well, if developers don't go all in and make some good ports, not crappy ones like the Wii U suffered under, then the games might sell well. If they half ass it and release pieces of garbage, then they can expect garbage sales.
The system had one hell of a rough start, but finished strong!
Mario Party 10 was pretty terrible. All they have to do is get rid of the stupid car.
Well, then if users want Monster Hunter enough, they'll buy a Nintendo Switch for it. Problem solved. If not, too bad. From a business point of view, though, it's simply cheaper to develop for one platform that covers both handheld and console audiences. Especially when they are uncertain about the western console market buying their products to begin with. All of the disagrees here are just evidence of pent of anti-Nintendoism. This is after all, N4G, the domain of the Sony sycophant...
But that user base barely exists in Japan and the console user base for monster Hunter in the West doesn't really exist yet. The gamers that do play, already play on handhelds. Developing for switch would effectively be developing for both audiences without any extra cost.
Nice choices.
I think Nintendo Switch just might be the perfect answer to the problem.
It's extremely unfortunate, but this is such a new direction, it makes sense. No dual screens for this console.
Well, you can do work on a PC. PCs are for things other than gaming, you know. Plus it's cheaper to maintain and upgrade a PC over time than it is to buy a whole new console.
Only people who have no choice but to be subjugated to 30 fps would every say there's a place for 30fps.
Price isn't really the issue. More like the idea of saving space and feeling like I'd rather have a device that does it all. I haven't bought a single use device since my first DVD player. I might play wait and see, and then if Sony doesn't do anything, then I just make my move, buy a 4K TV and a 4K player.
Maybe I'll even consider 4k bluray from Xbone. I have most of the exclusives on PC already, however, I'd love to play Halo again and backwards c...
I might have to get a PS4 Pro, anyway. Though I'm still quite upset about the exclusion of 4K Bluray. I bought a PS2 because of the games and because of the ability to play DVDs. Same with the PS3. I already own a PS4, which plays bluray and the same games.... and I don't own a 4K TV yet, anyway.... I changed my mind. I'm going to wait. PS4 Pro was going to be the catalyst to get me to buy a 4K TV assuming I could play 4K blurays(I'm a huge film buff), and I really don't w...
I'm going to buy the deluxe edition for PS4 for the pretty box, but I'm going to wait for a PC version before actually playing this. This game deserves the royal treatment. I may have to wait quite some time, but the wait will be worth it.
It think it'd be super awesome if we could also use switch to stream our games from PC.
