You're clearly only thinking about PSV end. Which is fine, but PSM is a platform agnostic environment and to adhere to that means you need all games to run on VITA, phones, tablets, etc. So Sony set a baseline for codes to work on all these varying devices cpu/gpu and memory blueprints.

While I clicked agree (because I do agree on principal), it is such a stupid myth when people say VITA has no exclusives at all.
It's re-purposing silicon. Same with what SteamOS is and Steam machines. It all runs on silicon that runs linux and you range from low to high.

Well, it adds more latency when you need to add extra mbps (carried over a wireless stream). qHD bits versus HD bits on that bandwidth seemed like a safer bet...but damn. Gaikai really is working some magic.
I wouldn't be surprised if PS4 only outputs 720p HD video (through remote-play) and it's STILL lagless.

I thought the VITA TV would get a signal from PS4 at 544p and upscale it. It seems like the stream is being sent at HD and output on HD (at least on VITA TV since VITA display is qHD).

I will get it just for the fact it's such a no brainer buy for a VITA owner like me.
I'll have a DS3 (and DS4 later) just lying around and the console will only cost $90-ish bucks (less than two games). Play all my portable games in a differen't environment with the same creature comferts it's a steal!
