It's probably the state of Rhode Island that's doing all of the new advertising...
WRPGs have become almost as cliche as the Japanese ones at this point. The game world is completely centered on the player, making them so overpowered in the end that it shatters the illusion of realism. It's getting almost as bad as "wake up, sleepyhead" to me.
I learned my lesson on Rockstar games... They're just not for me.

It's kinda funny that Monolithsoft and [supposedly, I don't know firsthand, yet] Mistwalker have brought the genre back into a bit of it's former mainstream glory. I thought XIII-2 was definitely a step in the right direction, but there's still a ways to go. Co-development between Western and Japanese houses is key to reviving the franchise.
