Or, just curmudgeonly stupid. ;)
You're correct, Kaos- all one needs to do right now is look at and play Xenoblade Chronicles. It's sublime.
Thanks, Captain Obvious! 8)
But seriously, even though most of these points are no-brainers, the problem with the list is that, for the most part, RPGs with an open-world often tend to not contain as tight and cohesive of a narrative(there are exceptions, of course).
Another fun-filled episode. Great work!

Gawd, I'm re-convincing myself of just how much fun I had with my Wii. Amazing.
I'm pretty sure Bayonetta is a SEGA joint, hence why they are "advisors" on the sequel.
A Baten Kaitos sequel with your entire deck on the touchscreen? I'll take that, thank you very much.
I still think that Nintendo should pitch a deal to buy Platinum from SEGA and, yes- start allowing these pseudo-second parties creative freedom on established IP.
How are any of these really under-appreciated? If this wasn't just an Xbox site, writer would know JRPGs that don't hit the mainstream like Arc Rise Fantasia on Wii and the various PS3-specific ones are those that do not get enough credit. Bah to list.
So, does anyone know if this applies to the 12GB Euro version as well?
Yay! More OC!
Every time I see it, I can't stop seeing Stallone. That needs to stop.
Thanks, glad you like it! Looking forward to hopefully hearing more feedback from you!
We refer to it around here as "Game of the Year", thank you very much. ;)
Agreed. Enslaved is one of the best unsung gems of this generation.
There's part of me that wishes Nintendo would just purchase Platinum Games from SEGA because they're the perfect fit for a Big N pseudo-second party. Their software is always rock-solid, but it always seems to run into trouble when translating to a Western audience. That's where the charming, universal Nintendo appeal comes in.
Imagine, then, Nintendo in collaboration with CAPCOM, brings return of Okami exclusive to WiiU with touchscreen drawing, etc.
If I could bring a genre back for next generation, it would be the collect-a-thon third-person platformer and it would look like a Pixar movie.
Man, this is great.
I can't even express how hilarious I find it that "gamers" are this outraged by Nintendo locking down Bayonetta 2 exclusivity, yet they've sold their souls, dropped to their knees and fellated Microsoft for 5+ years.
Awesome.
Yep, Steam Workshop actually makes the game miles more fun(and functional) than on the Unreal Engine 3 Box.
Ooooooohhhh... Eurogamer! Can't wait to listen!
