The battery charge is a awesome piece of tech... it charges the entire Vita battery while you play. And it still has a little more recharge power left afterwards.
So it's really more than 2 full charges. I paid $50 for mine and have thought it was well worth it many, many, many times.
It's a no-brainer at the new price.
Anyone who compares smart phone gaming to the Vita is a troll. They are two different types of devices... And I've never seen a phone game that came close to a serious Vita release. Not EVEN CLOSE !!!
I'm still loving my Vita two years later. And there is more content than I could ever hope to play all of.
Advanced Warfare is a hell of a lot of fun !!!
I love mine... and highly recommend it. I can game for 5 minutes or for an hour. The Netflix, movies, and music are just icing on the cake. The depth of gaming possibilities is where the Vita shines.
Kevin Spacey and Troy Baker... That combo alone is already fantastic news concerning production quality.
I played the last Tomb Raider on my PS3 and then played it again on my PS4. This burned me a good bit as a consumer. You suck Crystal Dynamics for turning your back on Sony gamers. It was a gamble for you to potentially make more money, by ignoring a huge part of the market.
A gamble you lose with me... I will not buy it when it comes to PS4 you greedy pigs. Turn your back on your loyal fans to make a couple extra bucks. Disrespect.
I've seen it at my Best Buy since launch, it's sold out but they've restocked a few times already. Target had a bunch of them on the shelves at launch and they still have 2 left.
I think AAA games that are designed around the 5-12 minute experience are the way to go. Things you can pick up and play and immerse in quickly. I love great games but they don't have to be huge gaming sessions on my handheld. Some middle ground sounds good.
I've really enjoyed my Vita and with the constant stream of PS+ games it's just an unbeatable value.
I'd say it was given an amazing amount of possible applications, a worthy price-point, and a solid amount of software... the rest falls onto consumer sales.
Also every multiplatform game will run at a higher resolution on the PS4.
Michael Pachter is a JOKE... he's the Fox News of gaming journalism. He says absolutely any level of bullshit in order to get people to listen.
Poorly attempted sensationalism.
He'll go away if we all ignore him long enough.
Homefront 1 was such an over-hyped piece of shit... I would not dare buy this game without checking a lot of reviews first... not just the paid reviews.
The first HOMEFRONT was a complete turd... I couldn't believe that it was being sold at AAA prices. I bought the first one on hype alone and was very disappointed.
How can you write an entire article and not even mention the number one reason why these memory cards are priced so high ? I have to call WEAKSAUCE here.
The only way to keep a new console system that features digital download on the shelves of retailers is to incentivize them. The Vita memory cards are more than 50% profit for stores.
Memory cards are required for more digital content... which is what gives stores an incentive to carry this type of device... re...
The article makes me excited for a Dead Space 4 made by a different developer.
Sony has so many amazing first party studios, and we don't know what most of them have been up to. With how quiet they've been in the last couple months about games. I think we're going to be very satisfied.
My understanding is that Sony is still worth more than 30 BILLION DOLLARS... they are not going anywhere... and the gaming division is strong.
How many people are going to get on here and MOAN and GROAN even though they already know that the install base of the Vita is just not big enough to warrant tons of new IP's. It is still a business.
Not to mention, haven't we all figured out that the Vita is actually just shy of console quality and so the types of games that work the best are 10-15 minute at-a-time games.
There are so many games for the Vita nowdays... both AAA and Indy's. And ...
Minecraft is a perfect game for the VITA.
Great commercial... I smiled, laughed, felt a bit naughty.
If I hadn't known it was a Sony commercial and caught it in the wild I would have definitely watched til the end.
