We don't get to decide for others what does/doesn't add to a work of art. That's up to artists.

"I said that it isnt his art because he called it his art fool if you extend that quote just a bit more i said its there game and only that. Im done with this you refuse to stop so im done get over it and move the f*** on."

Extend the quote...? Okay, I'm pretty sure the term "game" was still in that quote, but sure, let's extend it some more right now.

Absolutely, it happens all the time. Check out your typical gaming youtube channel, it's quite the source of enjoyment when one player's face falls into another player's butt.

@BrickHardcastle

Ï'll do just that!

The journalist quip was more a joke about how journalists don't do a good enough job of representing an issue properly, hence your over-simplification of the general consensus here in the comments. I'm not saying you don't have the right to be a journalist...? What. I''m likening your assessment of the comments to how a terrible journalist would assess them (how they want, not how they are)....

...

"Twiggy this isn't YOUR f***ing game it isn't your art"

You called it art, Kaleb. Indirectly, sure, but you called it art. I didn't put those words in your mouth. You said it isn't Twiggy's art, so then who's art is it, Kaleb? The Devs, duh, as it's "their game".

You're original point...

WHAT DRAGONKNIGHT SAID.

Kaleb, you're conflating the concerns of a few, with the concerns of everyone. The irony is that you yourself are ignoring the concerns of people who bought the game and don't agree with the decision the Devs made. Those are the people who's sentiment is being represented here.

That, and the complaints DO NOT apply to the whole community, because they are artistic complaints like Dragonknight said. Not mechanical ones. ...

"The fact that you, and probably many more of you lunatics can't link an image to what that image represents is baffling."

Or maybe most of us can differentiate a representation of reality to actual reality?

It wasn't even a matter of representing women wrong, it was a matter of people making sexy poses out of the game's radgoll physics. You could do that with any game that has ragdoll. What does that have to do with the Dev beside t...

@Kalebninja

The point I'm making is that Twiggy has a right to make demands just like the people who complained have a right to make demands. It's all based on what the players want right?

But YOU, Kaleb, started talking about what the Devs want, as it's their art so they can do whatever they want... yet it's okay that a part of the community was able to get them to change the game based on what that part of the community wants? What about...

"None of these companies are being censored in any way."

Of course not, they're censoring themselves. Why do so many people have this incredibly specific idea of what censorship is? Censorship is the simply put, the suppression or prohibition of any parts of books, films, news, etc. that are considered obscene, politically unacceptable, or a threat to security. That doesn't mean people/companies can't do it to themselves. It's an act, not necessari...

Kaleb, you just contradicted yourself. First you say it's the Devs who get to decide... but then you say the community wanted it. I'm confused, who's say is it?

You say it isn't Twiggy's game/art, yet I could easily apply that criticism to the people who complained about the game in the first place. And that's where the contradiction comes from: you say the community wanted it, yet when another part of the community doesn't...suddenly it doesn...

You can be offended all you want. It's a deeply personal thing and I can understand an emotional reaction... but when you try to come up with this flimsy argument about the skin "confusing people" because it doesn't properly represent the Hindu goddess, I have to stop taking you seriously, Mr. Zed.

You're basically saying that people are going to be confused about a major religious practice because some video game decided that a skin based on the desig...

@rainslacker

"...[acting as if that sub-element is] an absolute critical flaw of the game is overstating."

The critical flaw in the game is that problems like this were allowed to happen at all, due to the over-emphasis on story, graphics and presentation. This is just a symptom of a bigger problem: not putting the gameplay first.

"There were mechanics ...

I questioned Sam's place in the continuity as well, but what I came up with is that Sam's "big job" is what creates the necessary gap for the stories of both games. Does that fix the hole? because I haven't played Uncharted 3 in ages, so I don't know.

I also took major issue with how they handled Sam as a character, though. "Unnecessarily Contrived" just about sums up his existence in regard to everything in the story.

@rainslacker

That sounds kinda disingenuous coming from you, Rainslacker.

You know darn well that doing the same thing in a video game is not the same thing as doing the EXACT same thing. By that logic, you just conflated the general element of shooting people with all the creative sub-elements that spawn from that (how you shoot, who you shoot etc.). And so your COD example is weak, because yes, if you're dealing with enemies in the exact same way (t...

@Bruce755

"No, that's not a "classic identifier", it's a tool used to break up the pacing. It keeps you from doing one thing for too long. Many games use similar things. And yes, they went light on the puzzles in the game. I would have preferred a bit more puzzle focus as well, but that doesn't make it bad."

Bruce, using navigational puzzles to break up pacing is not the same thing as using the SAME navigational puzzle to b...

Actually... lol yeah, big time.

Having the player doing the same exact thing over and over is a classic identifier of a game that was longer than it needed to be. We don't make excuses for that when other games pad themselves out for story/length, so why let it slide here?

The sad thing is, Uncharted 4 is partly a problem-solving kind of a game, so why they didn't make that a bigger part of the gameplay by simply establishing a basic problem-solvi...

Dunno, it was enough that it became repetitious though.

I'm going to be going back through the campaign for footage in a pretty big video about the whole game eventually, so I'll do a headcount and get back to you.
