Considering there has been zero advertising or marketing for GT5 in the UK & Ireland, thats pretty damn impressive. When I mean zero, I mean not a thing. HMV didn't even have a promo poster up in store.
Enslaved had better marketing. At least it had a TV ad.

If its a success & Sony want a trilogy, he'll be pushing 50 by the 2nd sequel....even though Drake is only 27 in the games.
@Aquanox: You obviously have never played GT5 in 3D.
If the PS2 was capable of proper network support & post release patches. I'm 100% sure both GT3 & GT4 would have received plenty of them.
Hell, I bought Uncharted 2 day 1 and I completed it within 24 hours. I didn't encounter any performance issues or bugs. Yet ND have released several patches.
I'd say by the end of next year, GT5 will have so many post-release patches and updates, that the game will be pretty much be GT5.5 (thats a good thing).
The gaming sites better rereview it down the line.

GTs are slow burner sellers,
GT3 sold over 14.5 million copies over it's lifetime on the the PS2. GT5 will continue to sell till whenever GT6 comes out.
By the GT6 comes out 3D will probably be as standard, so every gamer can afford it. So gaming sites (who can afford it) should review it in 3D, so in a year or 2's time people can see whether if it is worth getting GT5 for it's 3D aspects.

Not everyone that owns a PS3 or an Xbox 360 plays online,
why then do a lot of reviewers spend over 50% of their time reviewing the multiplayer online aspects of the game?
If a review is supposed to cover all features available in a game, then why leave important aspects that heavily affect gameplay and experience.

If the reviewer(s) doesn't use a 3d tv or a decent steering wheel, then their review is incomplete. Its like a reviewer writing a Halo Reach review and only playing the single player campaign.

It was being deved by Techland (a polish company behind Call of Juarez), but I think it is vaporware at this stage.
Bioshock 2 was an excellent game. I think a lot of Bio2 haters never actually played the game, on the principle that they thought the 1st was perfect.

Well I bought a 55inch LED Samsung,
and it has a 2D to 3D converter built in,
(which turns any game, blu ray or football game into 3D)
and its the best money I have ever spent.
Don't diss 3D before you go out and buy it.
Then you can comment on whether it is a 'gimmick' or not.
