But considering that marketing for GTA5 started a full 18 months before it was released, we're looking at 2022 at the earliest. I'd also add that Rockstar will most likely NOT make GTA6 cross gen at that point, so it would make sense to wait for the install base to grow to a decent size to enable them to make massive record profits again.

I've been at the midnight launches for PS2/3/4 and I sure as heck will be there for the PS5. I was absolutely gutted when my launch PS3 died to YLOD overheating issues. I've still got all generations and this year got platinums for 5 PS3 titles (inFamous 1&2, Tomb Raider HD Trilogy). Good games will always remain good games.

I'm hoping PS1&2 games run on it. I just bought a rare PS2 game and would rather play it on PS5 via BC than have to unbox the PS2 with the wired controllers and ageing memory cards.

Quite simple really.
1. I have a massive backlog of games to play.
2. I don't feel the need to play every big game on Day 1 (e.g. I finished God of War last month); I'm happy to wait a bit and play games that have had the bugs patched out and save a bit of money as a bonus.
3. I don't have a PS4 Pro so, if the PS5 "only" plays the Pro version, it'll still be a boost over the experience I'd get with my curre...
