If the demo and trailer aren't actually part of the game can we really consider them as actual Heavy Rain gameplay and trailer? Wouldn't it be more of a concept trailer and a concept demo? Or should the demo and trailer be subtitled as Heavy Rain: The Origami Killer or Heavy Rain: Concept Demo/Trailer? Confusing isn't it? yet they give the best overall description of the demo than any other site. And from what I read they seem to quite excited from the developer playthrough.
From all the comments I read this game may end up being a love it or hate it game. But from what I read from previews the overall concept is great. I've never played a game by Quantic Dreams though I am trying to look for the Euro/uncut version of Fahrenheit but thats a different story, but the whole adventure/investigating thing is awesome. Saddest part is that "1%" isn't really part of the game. The trailer was made from a demo that uses the games engine but may not be part of the actual game.
Hopefully it won't be like FF7DoC. I want this game to still have RPG elements like the first two had. PE and PE2 where two if my favorite PS games and hopefully well see it on the PS3 someday. Imagine all the sexiness that is PE on the White Engine/Crystal Tools. Faints at the thought of see Aya Brea in the shower in all its HD glory.
If Sony was telling the truth this still have 6 more out their "12 announcements". Hopefully well hear more before Leipzig is done. On a side note if they showed Heavy Rain at E3 behind closed doors, what they hell are they gonna show behind close doors at Leipzig?
Unfortunately, last time I check Wii was on top. Still can't believe the Wii is still selling. At this point I wouldn't mind if the price cut kicked the Wii down to last place. Holiday season will be quite interesting. If Sony comes out on top this Holiday I can see it beating 360's install base in 09. But this and next year are great years for us gamers.
And for those that didn't buy it missed a really great and unique game.
Though those game do look insanely good you can only base your opinion on a trailer that represents a game still in development. I'm not saying that this game looks better than the games you mentioned but just wait till all games are released than compare graphics. By the time any of these games are released they will probably look a lot better than there are now.
100,000 to 19,000 that's like around an 81% drop. I guess most people who have a 360 bought this game within the first week. I think the only way the 360 could still survive in Japan is if they released an JRPG every week.
@TheHater - I don't think it will get ported like Eternal Sonata. Apparently Namco is making an exclusive Tales of... game for each system and PS3 apparently will get one too. Though you never know and if it does than welcome to the PS3 library.
To those that say this game is just an "interactive cut-scene" don't understand that there is actually more to this game. The scene you watched in the trailer is just one out of many scenarios that can happen while in that house. One scenario has you even killing the taxidermist. Heavy Rain seems to focus on the concept of "for every action there's an equal reaction". From what I've read so far your actions changes the game and its environment making the game different eve...
Actually according 1up that's just one of many scenarios that can happen at that house. Apparently you can sneak into the house and leave the place without meeting the killer or under certain circumstance you may end up killing him. The way you approach the game will actually change the game and it's environment, though the main story seems to remain the same.

That trailer was intense! WTF is up with the killer dressing up what I suppose are the bodies of his his victims, in kinky outfits! This game may end up being quite disturbing. Still 2009 is looking to be great year for Sony.
Isn't this the reasons games have an ESRB rating. If you don't want your kids to play this than make sure you watch their a$$ and don't buy this game for them.
Last time I check FF13 is a multi-platform if that was what you were talking about. They haven't even started developing it for the 360 yet. Did they even get their 360 dev kits yet? The VGChartz may be a load of BS when it comes to hardware/software sale but if people didn't post it and approve it seeing the NPD numbers wouldn't be as interesting as it is now.
I believe Nintendo is just future proofing the future of video games. Nintendo has got so many none gamers into gaming albeit as casual gamers. Imagine all those young lil kids who got their hands on a DS and Wii, Nintendo is just grooming these kids into "hardcore gamers". I had high hopes for this game and it seem that I'm getting half the game I want. I'll end up renting it but just to see if I just should buy it.
