Uncharted and Gears are rivaled games that's all. They are only similar because they are 3rd person shooters and have a nicely integrated cover system. If you have PS3 only you'll get Uncharted 3 and the same if you only have a 360, Uncharted 3, as I've seen is equipped to out do it's self. I hate it that people are still trying to push the "Uncharted is the Gears for PS3" crap, they approach TPS's aesthetic in vastly different ways.

Speaking without an ounce of bias, no, the PS3 doesn't need it. I especially don't need because it would be just another game I would have to get (I don't do rental too much) and I don't have the finances right now, I'm behind in my game collecting. The trophies would be nice to have though.

Honestly they didn't need to do much to the character models, fix the eye glaring and jagged edges nothing major, we all can recognize the characters; they have defining looks. There is no character that looks like Elena or Chloe to me that matters more than if they look graphically better. I think Uncharted 3 will focus on the environments and gameplay mechanics.
