I think it's entirely possible for software to creep up to $70 a pop, if not $80 given all the time putting in the extra assets that the next gen will demand.

Jesus, as usual it appears no one read the article, it was a question posed by EA, not MS.
I don't think anyone can argue that BR is superior. But MS chose DVD 9 because HDDVD was not finalized, and could not afford to wait and launch along side the Ps3. They really had no other choice, the Playstation 2 was so successful that the Ps3 would have steamrolled them, even if the 360 did have HDDVD. So it is what it is, and the devs have to work around these limitations for now, otherwise what are they to do, just refuse to make games for the 360?

You really have that backwards friend, it is not an opinion but empirical FACT if you actually analyzed the members comments that this is overwhelmingly a pro Sony site. And good god stop with the MILK comments, its not cute anymore. Furthermore, I have never seen an abundance of comments that say Ninty milks anything, but in my opinion they all do it to some degree.
