What the author fails to acknowledge is that the prices of UHD TVs from $1000 -$2000 are TVs with HDR. The 4k TVs from $400 -$600 that they mentioned don't have HDR. Quite a big distinction if you want to fully take advantage of the hardware
The whole reason I stuck with console gaming is because developers were able to make amazing looking games on limited hardware compared to what was available on a PC. I am afraid now that developers won't focus that much on optimizing because they will have access to more powerful hardware more frequently. The last of us was amazing coming out on a PS3 at the time.
I went with PS4 this generation from the 360 because Sony threw a knock out uppercut to Microsoft with pricing, power and games. Apparently most games will have the same framerate between the standard and pro, which has me disinterested. I was planning on buying a 4k tv next year but at this point, I might as well wait for the Scorpio since I don't have an Xbox One.
I don't think it's a simple matter of Sony not looking at MS management changes. They are both trying to get to 4k but its just not feasible once they started the hardware planning (at least for Sony, if Neo releases this year). MS is in a better position with power because the architecture to support 4k will be cheaper and more available in 2017
If that's the case they should release the most powerful one and work on reducing manufacturing costs by the time Scorpio comes out to drop the price.
The only thing they can do at this point if it is releasing this year is to overclock the CPU and GPU if their thermal solution can handle it.
@pee wee the 970 prices haven't dropped as much as I would like unless you buy it used. There is no reason to not spend an extra $40 to $50 and get a 1070. It slaughters the 970.
Don't ever buy a season pass from EA. They give season passes a bad name.

That's all handled by the platform and not Psygnosis. They are just given the tools to implement into the game. What you are asking for is one platform, one system.
We are talking about Square here, don't be surprised when it's announced for 2018 and then delayed to 2019. The Japanese games industry was not prepared for this generation.
