$600 for Oculus and at least $300 for the minimum graphics card. My math skills are telling me that's almost $1000 with taxes included. Not obscenely cheap.
I think Sony is going to market this as a new console rather than an accessory therefore it probably will be $399 -$499. I will probably wait as I don't see any amazing games to justify that price.
It's a success if it sells. Eventually the barrier to entry will be lowered and the mainstream will be able to purchase VR. For the next couplease of years it's an expensive gaming hobby.
You would think Sony would want to take away the thunder of the Oculus and the Vive with an anouncement of price and release date. I think they are going to wait and try to undercut the competition. Will most likely see this at GDC or a standalone event.
Ugh, that damn metric system!
I think 50 million is reasonable considering the heavy hitters coming out this year and if VR takes off people may be willing to get PS VR as a cheaper alternative to the Oculus. Let's say both are approx. $400, for Oculus you need at least a $1,000 machine and for PS VR you just need a $350 machine.
At this point MS just needs to keep their heads down and produce great games. They lost this generation so they should just focus on making their brand unique and come out swinging next generation. This should be doable since most of the execs that screwed everything up are gone.
They did this with the Portal song "Still Alive" as well. Pretty cool.
I only tried it out for 15 minutes but it was pretty comfortable during that time. Nothing was getting squished and it didn't move around on my head even though I was whipping my head around. It was pretty snug.
I think we all can agree that "winning" is sales. Don't give me any bs like "winning the hearts and minds of ganers" because that is subjective horse turd. In that regard, Sony has been winning for 3 years minus 3 months and you can't argue otherwise.
Learn English please.
Reading through all these comments, I haven't seen one logical argument pointing out why the Xbox has won. It's just a raging fanboy war.
I would say that if I could see the last 4 of your credit card and your full phone number, that's the definition of a leak/security breach.
What mysteries did they find? Credit card and phone numbers. Too soon?
Is Grim Fandango cross buy with the Vita?
IMO Rocket League was worth that $50 this year with the amount of time I sunk into it. BTW it never gets old seeing all the people complain about no AAA games and when one does come out people complain they already have it.
Thanks man, that is super helpful. I love the controller when it works it just the growing pains of learning it.
The community configurations won't load so I am forced to set up my own for every game. Looked it up and it seems a lot of people are having the same problem.
I built my desktop with a 970 and it came in around $800 with black friday deals on parts. That's the minimum you will pay for a baseline Oculus computer.
