This is ridiculous. They mentioned the same recommended gpu that the Oculus uses and that gpu costs around $300.
The crazy is strong in this comment section
What weapon nerf will they bring this time? Or maybe they will make the game more grindy after saying they would make it less grindy. In other words I am in anticipation to see how Bungie makes this game less fun and playable. They don't disappoint.
Did you read the article? It explains why people were expecting around $350 -$400. Oh wait, you just wanted to come on here and post a lame rhetorical question.
Back ordered doesn't mean squat if they only produced 500 or 250 or 50 initial units. They haven't released how many initial units that have been produced so stop drinking the Kool aid and use some critical thinking.
Exactly, when given the choice between Horizons, Andromeda and a huge lineup or a good year old game, what do you think most people will go with. Most people will probably pick it up in January 2017 at a reduced price or second hand.
I get disagreed everytime I say it but Square Enix is the next publisher to go under based on their practices and how long it takes them to develop a game.
Well supposedly 1.2 was going to fix the hit detection. That was my major gripe. Frustrating seeing that you got a headshot or a point blank shotgun and nothing registering. 1.3 is supposed to fix the remaining netcode issues while 1.2 was going to get the majority but it looks like that did not happen. Hopefully they get it sorted for consoles.
What if you bought a ps4?
It's .53 Teraflops more powerful
That's one way to put a positive spin in it.
Ha! Red Lobster is living the high life! Do you live in North Dakota? I figure that is a pretty classy restaurant there.
I haven't seen Lamborghini's coming down in price like ever.
I think people were expecting it when Palmer said that the device would be around $350.
I hope one of those titles is Riiiiiiiiidge Raaaaaaaaaacerrrrrrrr!!!!!
I completely understand that this new tech is expensive but in order for VR to be sustainable they need the mainstream consumer as a driving force. I remember 3d tvs were crazy pricey and by the time the price started coming down they had faded into obscurity.
Tell me about it. I live in San Francisco where rent is astronomical, primarily because of companies like Oculus and Facebook. On topic I feel like they included the controller and games because they themselves feel they priced it too high and it's sort of a concession.
They could capture the mindshare which Oculus has had recently. Look how hard Microsoft fought to get people to associate their brand with gaming rather than just Windows. Sony can do the same with VR almost over night which is worth a lot more than losing money off each unit.
If I was Sony I would capitalize on this and take a major loss on each PSVR. They would end up as the de facto VR company for the foreseeable future. Right now, Oculus is going to have an epic struggle convincing people to drop $600 and upgrade their rigs. I am hoping Sony knows that this could be a game changer.
MS did blow it in my case. I had an Xbox and a 360 and was set to have a One until they revealed an always online, DRM, $500 underpowered machine. They rectified their mistakes but at that point I already had preordered a PS4 and was sold on Sony's vision. The fact now is that I spent a considerable amount of money building a beefy PC and it will play a lot of the Xbox games, so there is no reason for me to buy one. I am sure there are quite a lot of people like me, so yes, they did screw...
