MGS is not that big of a selling franchise. Each mgs game after 1 has sold less then its predecessor. While I agree with some post above me saying that the game reuses a lot from its prediscessors that can be said about Mario, Link, and Halo, but it still is an awesome game. MGS3 is a game that everyone who has a ps2 should play.
That being said, mgs3 sold less then mgs2 did. I really don't see MGS4 selling 5-6 million copies but I could be very wrong.

I think 1up is pretty good with their reviews. Crysis is about an 8.0 game. The game itself is pretty sub standard. The graphics are amazing!!! truly some of the best, but graphics don't make it a great game. The fact is crysis is a standard shooter that copies elements from Halo, Farcry, and battlefield and mushes them together in a not so successful way.

Basically thats all that matters when it comes to a Multiplayer FPS.
Graphics are def better in COD4, but controls, mutliplayer and innovation are what define the game and keep it going.
COD4 does seem interesting with the multipalyer abilities I really like that Idea and wouldn't be surprised to see something along those lines in halo4
Halo haters hate halo because its over hyped (yes it is) and that the graphics aren't super amazing. But they don't understand what a higher level experience it is compared to other games. When you look at the gameplay, the feel, it really is impressive.
The video playbacks alone are rediculous. How after every match you replay everything from anywhere. The videos are like 1 meg too I don't get it.

While I do not doubt that the PS3's price drop will increase sales. Your saying that the non-hardcore audiance will start moving attention to the ps3 when more casual games come out. The ps3 will still be the most expensive console on the market with the fewest games available so why would the casual audiance turn to it? The 360 will be cheaper, offer a lot more games and already has an abundance of casual games out on disc and XBLA.

That it does look promising. Usually though the combat falls flat in action rpgs on the pc. We'll see but so far I am really enjoying hellgate.

I knew this would happen. I do not think that RC should have gotten 9.5+ its the first game on the new system, it leaves little room for improvement if the 2nd game is a lot better. I think that 7.5 is probably a lot harsher then it deserved but saying that gamespot is pro one system or another is rediculous. Thats one reviewers opinion and not spoken word of video game gods.

I like what ps3 is trying to do, providing services other then just playing video games. The 360 is also trying to add new features with movie downloads and what not. Competition definately works in the favor of the consumers.

Seriously lots of cracking new today. And actually you don't need a burner if you can stream the hd video to your hd tv with your computer. Might have some initial cost to set up but still probably less then a hd-dvd/blueray burner and the disks to burn the,.

When i heard that ps3 was going to be using a linux based firmware I immediately thought that it would be the first and most abundantly hacked one out there. The article while low on content was actually pretty good in pointing out reasons why it wasn't.
I think that the last argument is the most important one, and thats the lower install base means less people out there trying to hack it. I also think that if/when blueray Roms become affordable we might see an increase in mod...

VGChartz is usually pretty accurate within 5% of the NPD data and we get a basic idea of whats happening every week. The console wars aren't won with a single big weak but good sustained sales.
I agree completely. The graphics are amazing. I am starting to think this game is deserving of the hype its getting.
I too think the controls are in need of some tweaking. I know the player sucked in the demo but moving and aiming def seemed a little too rigid. I'm sure they will get it down though its gotta be hard considering they need to have controlls for shooting, platforming, and melee.
Read my above comment. MGS isn't as a big seller then some make them out to be. MGS3 sold 4-5 million units with 120 million ps2s out there. While I haev no doubts that mgs4 will be amazing selling 4 million in the first month will be difficult.
