BTW Halo3 is still an amazing game even though it was over hyped. ANYway good job.
But the problem is. Halo 3 DOES offer the most complete, and innovative mutliplayer on a console to day. Just because you don't love it, doesn't means its not a great experience.
OOT is not far from perfect. its about as close to perfect as you can get for the time period.

I agree completely. People are trying to turn this into a ps3 vs 360 games but thats not the point of the article.
TOO many 9.9s and 10 this year. There should be 5 or 6 of those a generation not a year. People are insane with this scoring.
8/10 is a great score. There is no way this game is a 10. I don't think any games out so far are 10s. This game is light years ahead of tomb raider, but tomb raider is 10 years old.
People stop getting upset with review scores. 8 is a GREAT score and should be considered as such not as a diss to a game that you like.
For once I actually agree with you. Without Multiplayer Coop this game looses a lot of its original charm.
Free roaming might be cool as long as they don't worry too much about that and mak an awesome combat system. Too many open world games (Oblivion, Two Worlds etc) feature a lack luster combat engine. Golden ax needs to have this to be successfully.

Its a card game. Those aren't any fun and just because its made by Squeenix doesn't mean its going to be awesome. They make lots of great games, but also some bad ones as well.
I'm pretty sure 90% of western gamers will not find this game interesting or worthy of getting. Also just because eye of judgement used The eyetoy, doesn't mean every video game since then will.

Level 5 made Dragon Warrior, but they didn't design it, write the story, balance the skills or anything like that. That was all Sqeenix dictating what needs to be done.
Although I agree level 5 is a quality studio, I'm not sure how well White Knight Story will play out. It's too early to tell as no real details have been released on the game other then some quick trailers.

Mistwalker is a newly created studio. Your not going to see the same production levels as you will out of square. They need to establish a hit franchise so they can justifiy an even bigger budget on their next title.

Well I believe thats misleading. While I don't doubt a good portion of the trailer is ingame. Square always likes to blend CGI with ingame footage. Either cgi backgrounds on top of ingame forfront and tricks like that.
With the power of the ps3 this line will be hard blended very well, especially when looking at quick little cuts. Either way the game looks stunning.

The majority of the screens are CGI. Square has always done a great job of merging CGI with realtime engine stuff. With the power of the ps3 the line will be blurred even more.
You are right the gameplay has to be good, and even on top of that we need an amazing story!!! I sure am fired up for this game!!!!
If you didn't like XII you probably won't like XIII. FF is moving and evolving past the traditional turnbased RPGs of the past. XII was the first step and except to see something along tose lines.
I've played every final fantasy and of course am SUPER excited about the upcoming games, but I agree that I wasn't a HUGE fan of XII. The open endedness of it all made me feel distracted from the story but overall it still a great game.
Also I don't see FFXIII seling 10...
Good article. I do believe that 2008 will be better for ps3. A few things are concerning 1. The gaming market is bigger now then it ever was before. And the ps3 sold less then the ps2 in the same sales period.
2nd, the amount of games available for the ps3 is less then half of what was available for ps2 at this time. This may just be caused by the increased production costs of making next gen games, so might not be as important as it initally seems.

COD4 is not GOTY. Its a steller FPS, but not quite as good as Halo3. I know alot of people hate H3 on this site, but the advancements in the matchmaking, video sharing, forge, are all unheard of before.
I don't see ME as GOTY either, so we'll see what happens.
I will agree with you here. Physconaughts and Okami definately were some inspiring games. Add Shadows of Collosus to that list of amazing games that didn't sell as well as they should
I agree with adam from G4. MGS is not mainstream in the way lets say Mario is. They are great games, but often very confusing for new comers and very complex. That kind of game will never have the mass market appeal of the more casual pick up and play games.
There are some very devout fans of the MGS franchise and I'm sure some people are waiting for MGS to get a ps3, but it is definately not as big of a system seller as people anticipate.
