While I agree with your overall point... some games deserve that full remaster treatment and SotC looks just amazing

@sk8

Absolutely agree. It's not a selling point, but definitely a nice perk

Just needs like $2,000 in PC hardware...

Depends on the resolution jump and texture resolution jump. Was the jump from upscaled 720 to native 1080 not a significant jump?

According to steams October 2017 data only 0.52% of PC's run 4k

@Fox

Totally get the eye rolling haha

But you gotta admit that the fact that it updates emulated games this much is pretty impressive.

All your seeing are better textures and draw distance. You aren't seeing it in 4k which will make a difference

State of Decay 2 and ori 2 are on my most anticipated list...

Still have a couple reservations for crackdown 3 and sea of Thieves, but both look like fun times. I have been enjoying the sea of Thieves alpha

@Goldby

Well let's just say half of the consumer base bought 1 $20 starter pack? That's $50mil. Not including the tons of packs streamers buy and then their Millions of fans then go buy...

Back in Nov 2015 they announced that it was more than $400mil in sales and there has been a lot more content and additional items to get in loot boxes.... so it's not hard to imagine it pulled in as much as a game that sold millions more copies on a platform...

My educated guess would be to make money, promote leadership from within (which is a good business practice).

@ImTrumPeach

The thing is is software always makes more than hardware. I'd say on the software side Sony probably makes as much or maybe just a bit more than MS even tho they make more games.

The reason here is a lot of Sony games, let's say Horizon and even GTSport, are single purchase items and while they may sell more units they probably don't make as much overall profit as say Halo 5 with all the MT's and such. A GAME that sells only a...

The industry grows because the advances in multiple revenue options... just look at the Resogun Devs focusing on a Multiplayer game next because a SP shootem up doesn't make that much money. Sony themselves even said they are looking into the model further.. you don't have to dig long and hard to see why more and more companies include MT's or Season Passes etc.

@UCForce

Sure those games did well, but they still made less than a game with MTs. Hence why Sony said they may be looking into adopting the model into more games besides UC and TLoU

@UCForce

I think that's a cool feature actually socially and when you have a group of friends to see your buddy drop a loot box (not from paying though I'm against that).

It's still all optional to pay for them. CoD: WWII has multiple ways of earning boxes without spending a dime
