It seems like this console is going to fall somewhere between the xbox 360/ps3 and xbox one in terms of power based on the specs we've seen. If Nintendo wants to be competitive they have to price this cheaper than current ps4 and xbox one prices. That means sub 299$ is a must. I just can't see them doing that. It would be a colossally stupid business move. Nintendo has everything riding on the Switch and it would be a mistake to do anything that would cannibalize sales or excitement for it, like releasing their flagship launch exclusive (Zelda) earlier on a dead console and making the Switch version feel like an after thought.

I thought the rumor said "A mario game" without being specific about which one. I just assumed it would be a port of a previous game. Probably Mario Kart with all the DLC. To me, the new Mario 3d seems like a holiday 2017 game.

Prequels are pointless and restrictive. The outcomes of a story following Ellie's mom are very limited since we've already seen the aftermath. We know she will give birth to Ellie, befriend the fireflies and die. Most of the suspense is lost because we know that no matter what she survives in the game, she's going to be killed. They need more than just third party support. There are 40 million plus ps4s and xboxs sold and climbing. No one's going to buy a new system for multiplats they can already play elsewhere.

Legitimately asking; wouldn't it be worse if they released a broken version of breath of the wild on Wii U that barely runs? Because then not only have these consumers spent all that money on Wii U, they've also wasted 60$ on game that's clearly intended for a more powerful console (see Hyrule Warriors 3Ds for example).
