I was more making light of the silly (usually alcohol induced)arguments some of my friends get into. Mostly the way people hate on whoever is on top whether it be sports, video games, music, etc. As soon as something becomes "mainstream" and extremely popular it sucks and people start to try to find the obscure romantic alternative....

I wonder if/when BF becomes the cultural gaming icon COD has become if they will move to some other underdog shooter and start hating on BF the way they hate on COD.
Both games are a blast. Watch BF fans pick on COD is like watching Orioles fans complain about the Yankees or Red Sox, f'ing hilarious.
Hopefully PS3 gets The Witcher too. I've heard nothing but great things about it.

Once Battlefield overtakes COD it will no longer be the underdog and everybody will hate on it the way they hate on COD.
Plus with added sales and players comes added complaining about what to fix and Battlefield will fall to the same problems COD has. EA will tweak and tinker to cater to the more vocal (often sucky whiny FPS player) and come up with a game that is easier for crap players to be good at (a la Black Ops).

I agree with everything you said. And I hope no one mistakes me for some kind of COD apologist I just can't stand the crazy fanboyism against COD. It has reached 360/PS3 fanboy level.
People also don't take into account, COD is a household name. A "casual" gamer could walk into my house and see me playing : Medal of Honor, Homefront, SOCOM, Battlefield, etc. and they usually would ask ... "Are you playing COD?" That s...

The majority of players in online FPS games are adult males from 18-35. Kids, in any online community, stand out because they usually always have mics and love letting you know about it where more adults will just shut mics off (unless on a team) and mute everyone that is annoying.

COD game are always campfests in the beginning. No one knows the maps and they are cautiously creeping around trying not to get killed. Every COD game since MW has been this way.
And it is the over vocal whiny b+&ches that get owned that ruin the game. Lets take away Martyrdom (a fairly realistic perk that happens in real life) because it is queer and I'm sick of dying from a Martyrdom grenade, and then we get a perk like Commando wher...
I can't believe people still complain about camping. Its part of the game. Effective "camping" teams absolutely dominate on TDM/HQ/Domination.

5/10 for a game basically means crap.
Unless you are hitting a baseball or shooting a basketball a .500 score is failing and terrible. A 7/10 means the game is good or average for its genre and as the game gets better you get into the 8's and 9's and very few games are real 10's.
I've been gaming for a long time and if a game gets even a 6/10 there is reason for concern. Not saying I haven't liked a 5...
This does look promising ... can't wait for E3 to see if more comes out. Not holding my breath though, Nintendo doesn't usually have the best hardware.
