I never got to play the first one and while I wouldn't buy MOH on PC, at least it will give me an idea of whether it's worth it or not
They have said repeatedly you do not have to pay to play Black Ops online (depending what platform, xbox live still costs but the game itself is free to play online).

It's an unofficial official announcement...it would be like Halo not bringing back forge and theater (to an extent).
That being said, I'm at a crossroads here. Do I buy Black Ops, Medal of Honor or AC: Brotherhood? I've already got Reach and I'm worried about too much FPS but Medal of Honor and Black Ops look so good. Sometimes I hate being a gamer in the age of ridiculously addicting/good games.

actually those maps were created with mp in mind and then adapted to the campaign, I get your point but they were built for MP first

As for this being unintentional, Bungie wouldn't release an update without noticing this...it was fully intentional and it probably has to do with the coop matchmaking as well as added modes of King of the hill, juggernaut, rocket race and firefight versus. We'll find out but I assume maps will come about 3-4 months from now
I know I'm gonna die a lot(not a good PC FPS player) but I'm glad this is going down. I didn't get in on the first beta and really wondering how this game plays in reference to it's parents (BC2, MW2)

I strongly disagree.....there is so much to do in this game. I just took a break from matchmaking and played an hour or so of firefight matchmaking last night. Could spend time in Forge World creating a map (rather badly I might add), could go into theater and take a look at some awesome moements from your last game.
Play campaign, etc....they don't even have everything in there
They are adding Rocket Race (Yes!!) and Firefight Versus in October to just...

I'll give 343 a shot if the game looks like it's worth it on brand loyalty alone (the brand being Bungie since Frank was a big part of Bungie for a while) and all the quality devs they've assembled. I doubt that Halo will feel like a true bungie halo again but that may not be a bad thing to change it up a bit.
If the game looks good, I'll buy it and give it a shot. That's their chance to impress me or lose me...but that's 2-3 years down the road and ...

Anyway, I will renew Live in July when it comes up for two reasons
1) Halo: Reach
2) Gears 3

I'm personally not buying it because I don't have the money to spend on something that only augments the experience. It's 100 bucks and I still have to buy games like KZ3, etc for it to be used. It's just not worth it when I could get COD: BO and KZ3 for about the same price
or a guy with an opinion.....was it horrible? no but it certainly had it's problems. I stopped playing because half my team and the other team just sniped and didn't go for objectives at all and in team deathmatch, it always ended up a camping sniper spree...I played on PC but that shouldn't change the way the game is played generally.
I couldn't stand that....at least in COD snipers can be rooted out way easier than all the way across a gigantic map in BC2. ...
It depends, plasma rifles and pistols are great for getting shields down and then the assault rifle and any headshot weapon can finish the guy off.
Personally, I prefer the DMR by far but the needle rifle is fun too for a change of pace
Meh not a graphical beast but it's a funnical beast and that's all that matters to me. I'm more than happy with my purchase so far
The change for Cole wasn't too bad but this is like making Master Chief wear pink or purple armor instead of the green or Kratos throwing around steak knives instead of the blades of chaos.
to be fair, just opening up new modes on existing maps when they could have been opened up from the start....doesn't necessarily equal fully supporting to me
