...yeah rookie obviously hasn't played it. I'm only half way through the game and if there's any campaign in existence on console right now worthy of a purchase it's this one. The mp is a blast too & it only gets more involved from here. It's easy to tell when people are full of it, when they claim to have bought their entire trilogy, then double dipped on the remaster that doesn't even include mp, only to go on to recommend others only rent potentially the best in...
@rainslacker
I was thinking the same thing pre release. I figured that The Order would have to end up w/ a slight edge because it was so much more constricted & there were far fewer mechanics in a less interactive world so they'd have more power to dedicate solely to visuals, but playing through UC4 it just looks a bit better while also being superior in all the gameplay departments.
Maybe a good portion of that is just down solely to the art dire...
Honestly I liked the idea of an upgradeable modular console more than full out hardware revisions. The caveat would have to be that all upgrades & add ons would come first party from MS to eliminate some of the compatibility issues you see with updating PCs & drivers.
It could be really cool if the XBO slim is just that, but on release they also offer an add on that may beef up the Ram or the CPU, etc. I'm not a PC gamer so I don't fully understand the pros ...
Ok, what game is THE best looking game this gen then?
The reason why statements like these aren't hyperbole or overly emotional & why they are absolutely logical is because the gap between this game & its closest competitors is very wide. I can think of maybe 3 console titles this gen that would even be close to the same ballpark. UC4 will remain one of if not the best looking title on consoles for the foreseeable future. I don't see any title knocking it of...
No doubt...considering this particular piece is solely regarding graphical fidelity, I honestly don't see how ME Andromeda even factors into the conversation at all. Those games weren't ever really praised for their graphics, they are more or less hitting par with every release. Not ugly games, not exceptionally pretty games. The technical achievements in those games are down to their systems.
Either way we haven't seen a single official frame of Andromeda to ev...
Ascended to full troll status. You are playing the meta game of trying to get a rise out of actual gaming fans by making uninformed comments, and you have the high score on that one. Congrats.
On topic, the console war only happens because of guys like the one above me. Anytime fans are interested in just talking about the games they enjoy, they end up feeling the need to defend them against trolls & console warriors. That's not going away. The one thing that will r...
Man how incredible did Elena look? As much as they've grown the character models for Nate & Sully, we've seen a lot of them in the prerelease, but just sitting on that couch with Elena was jaw dropping. She may be the most perfectly rendered character in the game. She's had a history of slight variations in her character model, but now they have added more of Emily Rose's likeness into the character & she finally just seems fully realized. It makes you understand what ...
You are really getting annoying. You are literally sitting here as someone who admittedly hasn't even played the game, trying to tell people who are actually playing it now & in awe of the presentation and graphics that they are somehow wrong and you are right.
Also this one: "another clown who thinks that anyone who has an unpopular opinion in the forums is an xbox fanboy"....in order to have an opinion, you'd have to have actually played the thing. Y...
If you are a fan of Uncharted, then no, it's really more of a strength than a criticism. Whereas the last games kinda rushed you through the campaign, this one has plenty of breathing room to really sell the stakes & let the gameplay and performances shine.
There are longer more impactful cutscenes, there's a longer beginning that unpacks a tutorial naturally in a really fun manner, there are wider stretches without combat...basically just more of everything and...
Totally agree. I've honestly been burned out on the fantasy setting for a long time now, I would love to see more games deal with these future settings because they allow for more creativity & imagination. The fantasy settings are a bit too constrained to elves & dragons, witches & fairies. Cyberpunk games could be a lot more than that when done right. Hope Cyberpunk 2077 starts a real trend so there can be more shifting focuses in the rpg & action setting as a whole.
Well first off based off of what you wrote I honestly think that UC4 may be more your cup of tea, but you already outlined in the article that you have no intentions of playing it anytime soon so I'd say it wouldn't really matter much what people recommend in this instance because you already couldn't get into the series based off of recommendations. To be honest I'm not sure what the actual point behind the article is though. I don't think you are trying to spew hate or t...
Really? Did you actually read the article? He essentially just lays out the games that ND has put out, mentioned the areas that people praise them in, then just says "but I don't really care....not sure why, I just don't. Not my taste".
Is there really a point in that? If so, I must have entirely missed it. There is a point that is danced around, but it seemed to me like the article exists to justify the headline and to drive a conversation...without those...
Yeah I definitely agree. Most especially when your reasoning for their games not tickling your fancy coming down to lines like this:
"To put it bluntly, referring to both the narratives and the characters, I just don’t care and I can’t exactly pinpoint why."
So why are you wasting both of our time not even bothering to quantify the reasoning behind your tastes? Honestly for a game as revered as Uncharted for its narrative & character work, c...
@nix
that's really strange. I've got a buddy that can't play games because they make him nauseous, I assume that was down to the quicker frame pacing but it may have a bit to do with the camera as well.
Have you tried switching on the camera assistance option? From what I understand that will keep the camera trained towards your pertinent path so you don't have to do a lot of manipulation with it yourself. I'd try that out if I were yo...
"uncharted 4 is finally the console exclusive that attracts the mainstream and getting a ton of praise."
You word that like a game like UC4 is expected to drop early & at a regular pace throughout a console's life cycle, and that has simply never been the case. In relation, neither Wii U released a year earlier or the Xbox One have had games on the level of UC4 in terms of critical & gamer reception. Simply releasing a new entry in a well loved franchi...
I mean when you honestly think about it, isn't a game like Uncharted just a slightly different version of something like Jak & Daxter or Crash? You have the high adventure, you have the unique locales, you have the platforming focus, and now you have the vehicle type detours. All it really does is add puzzles, story & gunplay, and UC4 has actively held back a lot of gunplay in favor of more pure adventuring.
I honestly think 3d platformers didn't necessarily...
@mike
"Crackdown is launching in 2 parts. Multiplayer this summer and the campaign next year."
Is that confirmed yet? I just thought that seemed like a strange set up for a game like this. If the mp dropped in Summer that'd also mean that there would essentially be no real beta for a game that is meant to revolutionize mp w/ its systems. I could see the potential for MS to allow anyone who preorders the game to get in on the mp in perpetuity until the...
@fenome
Oh yeah, I completely forgot about that Heart of Stone expansion. Thanks for the heads up on that...I'm typically not a big open world rpg guy, but any game that people are still talking about a year from release is a must play for me, regardless of the genre. I may be a little late to the party but I'm really pumped to jump into TW3 right after I finish UC4
@moldy
I guess I live in the world according to Spencer. He specifically said last year that he'd prefer to use E3 to showcase this year's games & Gamescom to showcase future titles. I'm not saying that they won't show games at E3, I wasn't even saying that we wouldn't see brand new games at E3, I'm positive that MS will have another amazing show, I just think that their biggest new game reveals may be saved for Gamescom or another event wher...
I can't wait to see the numbers myself...I'm nearly finished with chapter 11 & words can't really describe it for me. I only just hit the more traditional "Uncharted" levels and every is simply improved across the board. I love the slower boil of the introduction, allowing us to be firmly entrenched in the adventure at hand, I love the collectible notes that further flesh out the story, I love the fluid feeling of slipping in & out of stealth methods, the platfor...
