I remember when Ground Zeroes came out and everyone said that you could easily tell which was which and the PS4 version was far superior to the other versions when really there wasn't that huge of a difference even with previous console versions. I think if you took a game like that or even Destiny and put people in front of a top of the line TV with a generic PC controller and asked them to identify all versions of the game, the results would be even greater in terms of differentiating w...
When I ran a website years ago that was geared towards Xbox I heard a lot of stuff like this. In fact, I found out that they were going to re-release Goldeneye 007 in HD on Xbox Live at one point and in fact that game exist internally. I found out about it through the Xbox 360 debug's version of Xbox Live called Partnernet. Since I signed an NDA for my debug I couldn't actually say I found this out through Partnernet so I researched more and discovered through my contacts at various b...
Well one, were talking about a game that wouldn't even be considered one of the better looking games last gen let alone this gen. Two, I don't see how either is easier or harder to develop for considering the tools, sdks, apis, etc available for both of them and the PC architecture each share. Xbox in particular should actually be easier just because of that. Three, a Japanese developer having preference to PS4? Shocker. I remember back when MGS2: Substance came to the original Xbox a...
If any of you guys go back and look at my old post, I used to run a site and I've actually talked to EA and I've been to a few EA studios (Redwood, Burnaby, Vancouver, Orlando) and I know from experience that EA at it's core is an incredible company. With that said, EA and Microsoft have been more receptive towards each other the past few years. It doesn't hurt that one of the guys in charge at EA right now used to be one of the guys in charge of Xbox. The EA Access service lo...
No I think (and know) that Square Enix is worth 291 billion in market cap, however I kind of forgot math for a second lol it wouldn't be 1/5 (or 20% of the company) it would work out more closely at around 2% of the companies worth. 50 million is still to much for a game that Microsoft won't have exclusively indefinitely.
10 million is probably right if not to much. Lol at 50 million. Square Enix is worth about 1/5 of that, that wouldn't be an investment in a game that would be Microsoft buying a stake in the company lol
So no one is going to use their BS detector and trace it back to the source? http://i.imgur.com/OY0ISCq.... If you look at this image which is obviously trying to look like marketing material the spacing in the lettering is off in the plain text (a rookie mistake people do using Photoshop) and the E in "DOUBLE" is not right. If you go on Xbox.com and look at marketing materials that use the letter E they are identical to ...
It's not really about competing with Uncharted as much as it is giving Xbox gamers an alternative and Tomb Raider then doesn't have to directly compete with Uncharted on the Sony platform right away. Out of any exclusive IP coming out this year Uncharted isn't the one to beat Halo is. While Uncharted sells very well and is a big title, it doesn't touch Halo in sales numbers. The only exclusive SOny title that compares sales wise to Halo is Gran Turismo.
Look pretty much the same to me on either system and why should we get excited about a 3 year old game? Just because it's the trend with the new systems? DoA hasn't really been the same anyways since Itagaki left.
I keep seeing this comparison to The Walking Dead, but Walking Dead and the kinds of games Telltale make are a genre of their own. I can't really think of any developer that does what they do. Their style of game is unique to them, and the type of gameplay it uses literally translates to about anything you can put games on from a phone to console all the way up to a PC.
Because of the game it is, you are also getting them at a much lower price than you would a full game....
I think the review he was referring to might have been the one on Digital Trends and yeah I would tend to agree that that review was click bait and it drove the games average down tremendously. If not for that review the game would be averaging high 70s not low 60s.
The thing about studios to and I got this sense from watching this, reviews like these make them very nervous. Usually studios get a bonus from publishers if the game rates 80 or higher. If it goes lower than 80 ...
I think it's a good thing depending on where it goes. The average gamer online thinks it probably means blood baths and mutilations along with a dash of tits. If that's the case I'd be very disappointed.
Now, if it has this rating because of swearing, complicated mature dialogue, and deep moral dilemmas that is a totally different thing.
Fable never died. The first 3 Fables sold incredibly well. Fable Journeys didn't fair so well because RPG gamers and Kinect do not mix.
I'm sure the game will sell decent but saying it's a success because it sold decent in UK is like me saying Ryse was a success because it sold out in Ohio. Also people do care about reviews, and I guarantee you that for many products and services you guys still pay attention to them especially if you are making purchases that are bigger to you. To many people $60 is a big purchase myself included and I would want to get the most bang for my buck. Amazon.com for example the 3.5/5 avera...
So before it was the big bad publications were out to get The Order: 1886 because they all said it had INCREDIBLE graphics and INCREDIBLE presentation but seriously lacking gameplay and replayability. They all are of course in the pockets of Microsoft and hell why not, Big Oil too! Never mind that the same guys reviewed several other Sony titles very high. Now a little guy is doing it, this site could easily be done by any of you with some basic knowledge of Wordpress, FTP, and servers. No on...
What I find strange is a guy that claims to be a "scientist" using terms such as underrated in such a haphazard way. Under rated doesn't necessarily mean it scored bad it means that the title in fact scored well, but kind of went under the radar for most despite being a relatively significant title in many aspects. There is nothing significantly unexpected about The Order as the gameplay plays out like features formed by a focus group and the presentation was already expected to...
To good to be true with the kinds of games and giving away as many as they are. If you trace back the source and look at the graphic they include with it, the font they use along with the games with gold logo is wrong, as is especially evident from the way the "E" in "Double" is made. Guy made this up. Not only that, Microsoft has never used marketing materials that used all the gold lettering like that.
Well actually a few games that are made in Japan for Xbox will release in other territories but not in Japan. Sometimes it just doesn't make much financial sense for a developer to print the disc.
The list isn't to bad, Dead or Alive was for sure a silly, pretty game though but when you bought it you knew what you were getting into, you knew it was going to be outrageous. The rest of the list I would tend to agree with but I don't know about RE5. RE5 wasn't a very good survival horror but it was an INCREDIBLE game overall and I don't really recall it being disappointing.
I think it's bad, especially because my favorite horror series of all time Silent Hill may be kind of in trouble. However, I do think that Silent Hill specifically should be ok because they were probably at least a year and a half into production when they made it. I suspect the game will still be on target and likely come out October of next year.
