Eh, 7 is still a good score. No where near what it should have been considering all the hype, but still, glad to see it's at least a good game. I'll probably pick it up, the demo was alright. There's nothing else out at the moment =/

You're right in that it's made for MGS fans. Core gamers is arguable, considering what you consider a core gamer and whatnot but that's a whole new can of worms.
I thought MGS4 was good, but no way a masterpiece. It was more of a fan service.

COD3 wasn't that bad.
I liked it, it was a hell of a lot different and the unskippable cutscenes were annoying, but it was still a solid title.
If this is more of the same then I don't mind, but it's still nice to know that they've put their full effort into making this the best game possible.

I've been looking forward to this for ages, it looks awesome. It just seems like it's the kind of thing where every time you play it's going to be one of those awesome intense moments you get sometimes on XBL.
As for PSN I don't know, I've only played MGO on there and it's a totally different experience from the kind this game looks to offer.

When all the initial footage of this was shown I was very highly skeptical, but the more I see of this I'm getting pretty excited to get my hands on it.
I mean yeah, it's supposedly just a standard FPS, but most FPS's are fun anyway. Just the graphics and awesome animations are what make me want this game, there's nothing else I care about.

I don't understand how anyone can say it doesn't seem like a "true" sequel. I mean it has tons of improvements, added weapons and enemies, new "abilities" if you like (what with the shield and new finishers) and a completely new story with new characters.
What more can you really want from a sequel?

The guys from Xbox World 360 (independant UK mag) have had a couple of previews of this and, if I remember correctly, played a demo too.
They've been saying it's surprisingly good. They haven't said it's the next Gears or anything, and they certainly haven't implied it, but I don't think this is going to be as bad as you all think.
