Um, how did you manage break 4 of them? Are you stabbing the touch screen with a knife or something, or throwing it at the wall?

I've got 2 kids who are under 10 years old and they've each managed to play their ds without breaking it in any way for over 2 years, and they play them on a daily basis.

You must be a special case. Do people you know tend to call you 'clumsy'? Do you walk into lamp posts on a regular basis? If you drive do people say to you "um, bette...

Plus the games are getting huge now. Who would want to download 25-50 gigs or more? And how would the networks cope?

In your opinion.

How are those games doing in the American charts? Is Uncharted 2, Killzone 2 or LBP beating them over there?

Actually I'll answer that myself, they aren't.

They're classed as rpgs, well fpsrpgs I suppose, they involve more than just shooting anyway.

That's my feelings exactly Baka, I dispise the term and find it ridiculous. I love playing games and play them a lot, but I would never call myself a 'hardcore gamer', I'm a gamer.

Is there a standard to being a 'hardcore gamer'? Like do you have to play games for a minimum of so many hours a day, or per week? Or is it only certain games you play that make you a 'hardcore gamer'?

I've been playing DS most of the day. I'm clocking in at about 12-13 hours played today ...

Anyone who calls themselves a 'hardcore gamer' is a joke.

Quake was 3d though. I'm pretty sure HL used some Quake tech as well.

I'm glad Demon's Souls is winning awards, it deserves recognition.

Yeah that's what I thought as well, I understand they want to make sure it's going to be top notch but this goes against what the point of episodic content was going to be about. It's been 5 years since HL2 came out, and as much as I liked the first 2 episodes the amount of time waiting for the episodes to appear is the amount of time most full games take to be made, which is frankly ridiculous.

Why do they need to see the truth, and who's telling the truth? I won't be buying it because I don't have a 360, but until it actually comes out as a finished product for all to see and try out you have no more authority on what it's going to be like than anyone else.

Companies show products at shows all the time and sometimes it can be embarrassing because something unforeseen happens that goes a bit wrong. Best example was the 2006 E3 Sony press conference, that was unbelievabl...

Wow, way to put words in my mouth. I can't remember saying I had everything on it maxed out and was running at 60fps+. I had most of the options on high and had a few options turned down to medium and I wasn't running it on an obscene resolution, my monitor only goes up to 1280 x 1024.

And sorry but I have limited HD space, it's only an 80g, so I'm not about to uninstall something to make room and install Crysis so I can take a video for your viewing pleasure. You may have lots...

Every 3 months? Are you serious? I don't know anyone that needs to upgrade every 3 months, that's just complete bullsh*t.

You can get by without upgrading for 2-3 years.

Yes but pc games are scalable. They have a minimum requirements, and as long as you have that you can run the game, although official minimum requirements are often misleading. You may not be able to run it with full bells and whistles, but you can play the game.

And part of being a pc gamer is playing games later after you've upgraded a couple of years down the line and enjoying the games you've played before with all the options turned up. And imo an fps is far better to play o...

Crysis is one of the best games to have ever been released. It makes me laugh when people say "Yeah the graphics are good but you need a $5000 pc to play it, and the gameplay's crap!"

First of all, you don't need an amazing pc to play it. My pc is far from top of the line but I can play it with high settings, and even on low to medium settings it still looks better than most of the games out there.

Also the gameplay is amazing, stealth is one of the best as...

I agree with you about DA:O, I love it. I've put a massive amount of time into playing it. I haven't completed it yet as I'm taking my time, also because I play different games in between as well. But the fact that you can play through the game differently will also keep me coming back to it for a long while.

I don't think DA:O and DS should be compared though as they are imo completely different games. While DS falls into the rpg category it's a in a league of it's own. DA:O is ...

Didn't suit him? It suited him enough that it's one of the best games ever made and a lot of people loved it. You didn't like it, but you're one of the minority.

If they make it as good or better than the first I will happily buy it.
