Its around 1 TB. Anyways I was just saying we'll probably need 1TB disc within the next 10 years. Kind of like now we need 30gig and up for something.
Ohh and read times have a limit. Thats why I think the next media will be flash disc. Around the same holding size by with a physical size of well todays flash drives. And they read about 10 faster. :)

Well some studios backed it because it has cheaper disc cost. IE it cost less to make an HD DVD disc vs a BR disc. That and because the players are cheaper.
Anyways unless they throw 3 movies on one disc or full TV seasons, anything over 30gig isn't really necessary.

Well its mostly because of demographics. Since the country is so small its a lot easier and cheaper to get everyone high speed service. Unlike in the US where 50 miles of fiber optic wire will only reach a few hundred thousand where in japan it might reach 10-15 million.

To be fair, its typically easier to make good hardware than good software. Give me all the parts to a car and I can have it build inside a week and I can guarantee it will fun for next 15 years. On the flip I spent 4 days working on last years final programming project that used a loophole in Adobe reader. Sadly 2 weeks later Adobe "fix" the hole...Jerks.
