Right, so when I bought Crysis I should expect it to run faster? Right? Because it's newer and newer software should run faster? Perhaps you could do a search and find the only thing Vista is slower than XP at(by some reasonable margin) is file copying. Actually Vista is faster, though by a small amount, than XP in most categories.

Sure it is. It's exclusive for 21 days, meaning it can't be had on any other system for 21 days. Though as to why the definition of exclusive is so twisted when it comes to games boggles me.
I play Crysis with 37 average on High to Very High(mostly just High) setting on a 750ish$ PC running Vista. So yes I play games on it and it runs them fine. Though I still think DX10 is overrated.

On a side note, not any slower or quicker than before so umm to copy the guy above me "meh".
Not to mention that if you get it to work through WINE the game will run far worse than if you just went ahead and used XP/Vista.
Why is it some people think Linux is the answer to all OS problems? I would never in my life recommend Linux to most people, hell even people who *think* they know computers I wouldn't tell them to use it. It simply is not as easy as Windows is.

Vista runs every single game I have from Crysis back to Sacrifice and it runs them all without a hitch. It runs Crysis, probably the best benchmark nowadays, at an average of 37FPS. You could say thats just because the computer is good, but I spent 700$ building it so it's not top of the line by any means necessary.
As for the rest, it's a damm OS, for all practical purposes there is often very little reason to switch to ...

There isn't anything really wrong with Vista, people are just complaining because it's MS. I'm sure you can find some horror stories were Vista screwed up their computer with incompatible drivers, but 1 year later all of the current drivers work just fine. Honestly the reason I bought it is because when I built my PC I had to buy a new OS because my ferret decided my XP cd was his chew toy.
Another downside is that they have a limit number of writes they can preform before they "crash." But it's some really high number though.
Though I don't have numbers, I seriously doubt Prologue comes anywhere near chose to COD4(PS3) or Resistance/Warhawk.
