Right, so the article answers none of the questions I posed above - specifically. Thanks.
I think Sony PSN clocks in around 115 million. For comparison, I believe the Microsoft MAUs are around 120 million. Feel free to double-check me.
Microsoft loves making crystal clear details very vague. For example, we know the old financial model for a console manufacturer:
Consoles sold minus cost to make a console = difference (generally a loss for the first couple years).
Software sold (digital and physical) plus add-ons/expansions minus the cut that goes to publishers/devs.
Oversimplification but ultimately, this makes the revenues. Sony gaming revenues way more than Microsoft globa...
Assuming they aren't factoring in the 30 games hitting PSVR2...
can't believe they made 20 games har har har
Right, and Mario's global aspirations are hindered by Nintendo exclusivity. So what?
I love how this article is flagged as 'Rumor' - it smells like a heaping pile of opportunistic fanboyism.

Not really a fresh story. Weil is the law firm that MS uses out of NYC and this was filed on Oct 11 when CMA said there needs to be a phase 2.
CMA has already replied to this document from Microsoft with their 'issues statement' on Oct 14: https://assets.publishing.s...

Sorry to hear that you have such strong feelings. Keep in mind that none of us have the ability to predict the future.
I would absolutely encourage everyone to read the CMA's latest response to Microsoft (here: https://assets.publishing.s... At the end, you'll note this paragraph:

It will pass gameboy and gameboy color.
Good thing Microsoft doesn't factor in hardware units sold - no point in that right? Or wait a minute, don't they stroke their johnsons over velocity architecture and custom nomenclature that makes their little box sound all fancy? But it's not about that though. Cuz you can game anywhere right? So why get all jazzed up about hardware sales...? But wait, don't devs for the little box need to program for every possible PC outcome - nice and simple right? Sony doesn't have ...
Can't we get this post taken down? The guy is referencing old data from an IGN post 3 years ago ( https://www.ign.com/article... It's wild hyperbole and flat blog opinion. Substantially missed the mark.
CDRP is in shambles right now. I don't know the commitment their team will have to fixing this. Especially with all the bad press. The culture there is basically a lost cause and now there's a rift with their developers and share holders. I'd be surprised if they ever get this to a 'quality-product.'
Think about this in another industry. Say, you run a chain of movies theaters and you market it as 'the best movie theater experience ever! we ha...
screw that ;-)

I never thought I'd see the day. A bunch of bickering politicians talking about video games.
There's truth in everything I've read so far. Microsoft owns the media (yup, 12% owners of Comcast, flat-out owner's of MSNBC, and they operate the underlying infrastructure for thousands of companies, including their code repos, chat tools, office tools, email, etc.). So, no surprise there. Also true that they're in political pockets. Sony actually really is...
