If you couldn't tell by looking at his bubbles, RedDeadDestroyer's comments are meant to be taken as a joke as well.
You do realize this article is a joke, don't you? It is part of Gamesradar's week of hate.
Well, this begs the question; what makes a game truly great? In the end, it is all subjective. Most of the aspects of Portal 2 you mention are definitely far and away better than anything else in the gaming industry, and I hope that the strong writing will lead to the eventual evolution of games.(L.A. Noire will hopefully be another step in the right direction)
However, the odds are, Skyrim will absolutely consume me. Based off of the little information already released, Sky...
So, to you, if something eventually stops giving you enjoyment, then it is not worth engaging? Portal 2 is a fairly short game, and there isn't much replay value since once you have solved a puzzle, you have solved that puzzle; yet, is it not an amazing work of engineering? Are the elaborate puzzles, exquisite script, and awesome physics worthless, simply because the game won't last a person 30 hours? Your logic is flawed.
While I agree that there are many games that Skyrim needs to compete with, Portal 2 is not "one of the greatest games ever made". I finished it today, and I do believe it is a strong contender for game of the year. However, it's main draw, portals, are not the mind bending revolution they were three years ago. From the information released by Bethesda, Skyrim is going to be a Mammoth(pun intended) game. The technology behind it alone already seems to put it above portal 2. Bear ...
According to the most recent Giantbombcast, the demo the press was shown was an hour long. So, at the most we will see a five minute chunk of the demo, and I doubt Bethesda wants to show off their dragon Tech at the moment. I have gotten my hopes up for "big" reveals on GTTV before, and I have usually been very disappointed. However, here's hoping we finally get to see some gameplay of Skyrim; it's by far my most anticipated game of this year.
While I am very excited for L.A. Noire (I'm a big Film Noir fan), I don't think it is possible for anything to beat Skyrim for my personal game of the year. However, if the Tribeca film festival award is anything to go by, this could be a very strong contender.
The majority of people do not hate the cashiers; they hate Gamestop. I understand that the employee is simply trying to keep their job; I have no problem with that. What I have a problem with, is Gamestop's policy on the matter. If a store is low on pre-orders,then the management of said Gamestop gets chewed out; the manager, in turn, then chews out his employees. It is a flawed system, and I, as well as others, have a right to complain on not give the company business.
Still 50 dollars too much.
I got the disc and the thing isn't working. Now my console won't go to the dashboard because it is between updates.
Just watched Raising Arizona today.
Authors. This list was created by both the entire Gamesradar US and UK staffs.
Any way, I also tend to rank games with engrossing plots higher than simple "casual" games, but to each their own.
This is why I love Gamesradar.
Do you realize what it means to be on a "soapbox"?
Anyway, although I may not always agree with him, I still enjoy hearing Sessler's opinion. I feel we need someone who will challenge the status quo of an arguably stagnant industry.

Hahaha! More smarter?!

Why does Dead Space 2 warrant a 1.5, while other sequels don't?
Team Bondi. Team Bondi. Team FUCKING Bondi!
